We’ve been a busy bunch lately! 🎄

On Monday, Zero Connect Cares stopped by and dropped off gifts for each of our residents. We are so thankful for their kindness and support! ❤️

Later that day, Miss Albia and Miss Moravia stopped by with homemade goodies they baked for our team members. Thank you both — they were much appreciated!

On Tuesday, Care Initiatives Hospice partnered with us to host a hot cocoa bar and Christmas movie for our residents. Some favorite toppings included marshmallows, sprinkles, and whipped topping — yum! 🎬

We are so grateful for the wonderful community connections and support we are blessed to have!

Our Story

Oakwood Specialty Care is a relaxing and refreshing senior health care center that offers privacy, dedicated care in a family-like setting. Located at the edge of Albia, our residents enjoy the serene, country-like setting along with the deer, turkey and pheasant.

Our staff is highly experienced and very attentive to each of our residents, many of whom spend only a few short weeks with us while rehabilitating from illness or injury, or while on respite away from family. Other long-term residents get to know our staff and become our extended family.

Highly-trained professionals in physical therapy and occupational therapy work one-on-one with each resident using state-of-the-art therapy tools and programs striving toward the goal of increased independence, minimizing pain and eliminating other risks factors such as falling.
