๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Connie Raye Boylan, a beacon of light and the heart of her family, who left this world on August 12, 2025 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. Born on October 15, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa to Mason and Mildred "Louise" (Miller) Walker. Connie's spirited personality and caring nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Connie was a vibrant soul who danced her way through life, often lighting up the dancefloor with the Jitter Bug at Harris Hop in the Val Air Ballroom. Her love for cribbage was only surpassed by her love for fishing, an activity she joyfully shared with her boys. She was a woman of many talents, known as a beautician, a cook in the high school systems, and a popular figure at High Noon Saloon, Jolly Rogers, and the Red Barn. Alongside her late husband, Bill Boylan, Connie co-owned and operated a Maid Rite in their younger years, cementing their legacy in the community. Yet, amidst her numerous roles and responsibilities, Connie always made time for her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and her love for them was boundless.

Connie's favorite saying, "Walla," embodied her cheerful and optimistic outlook on life. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter will forever resonate in the hearts of her loved ones. Connie's life was a testament to the fact that what matters most is family.

She is survived by her children, Rob Boylan, Cindi Ford; daughter-in-laws, Donna Blake, and Joni Jamison; grandchildren, Mason Boylan, Samanta Nesbitt, Buck Boylan, Jennifer Chinnis; great grandchildren, Lainey Chinnis, Stetson, Swaye, & Slade Nesbitt, & Emma Boylan; sisters, Flo (Gary) Schroeder, Sherry (Bob) Locker, and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Louise Walker; children, James โ€œJimmieโ€ Boylan, Ronnie Boylan, Jayette โ€œSisโ€ Sumpter; one sister, Korene Ivy; three brothers, Bill Tholl, Bud Walker & Ron Walker; and dog Sadie Mae.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia, with the funeral service being held at 1:00 pm at the funeral home in Albia. Private family interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. Memorials have been established to the family and will be directed at a later date.

In the wake of her departure, we invite everyone to share their memories of Connie and upload photos to her memorial page. Your stories and pictures will provide comfort and serve as a reminder of the incredible woman that Connie was. Let us celebrate her life and honor her legacy together.๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ We mournfully announce the passing of Terry Eugene Spring, who left us peacefully on August 10, 2025. Born on December 23, 1978, in Bloomfield, Iowa. Terry was a loving husband, devoted father, and beloved member of the Appanoose County for 46 years. Terry was a man of strength, courage, and compassion whose life touched many and whose memory will inspire countless more.

Terry was a self-made man who found joy in the fruits of his labor. As a self-employed trucker for five years, he appreciated the satisfaction of a hard day's work and the freedom that came with it. He was a man who truly understood the value of a job well done. This ethos extended into his personal life where he was an avid home improvement enthusiast. Terry wasn't one for demolition work, but he cherished the process of creating something new and the gratification of seeing a job completed. This love for creation also shone through in his culinary pursuits, as he was known to faithfully follow Facebook recipes, delighting his family with his cooking.

But what mattered most to Terry was 'the boys.' A dedicated father, he took immense pride in coaching their Little League teams and following their sports journeys. His favorite pastime was fishing, an activity he cherished for the tranquil moments it offered and the memories it created with his sons. He also enjoyed yard work and finding solace in his recliner during nap time โ€“ small pleasures that spoke volumes of the simple, honest, and unpretentious man he was. Terry's legacy will not be measured by his accomplishments but by the love he had for his family, and the joy he found in the everyday moments of life.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sherry Spring; sons, Dakota Housley, Hunter Spring, Parker Spring, Brant Spring; parents, Kathy (Greg) Wilson, Doyle (Irene) Spring; two sisters, Kandi (Kevin) Moorman, Leisa (Dan) Moorman; step siblings, Garett Wilson, Garin (Amber) Wilson, Jennifer (Jayson) Ledford; nieces and nephews, Brenna and Austin, Camryn, Alaina & Gracie; father-in-law, Larry Jeffers, and brother-in-law, Scott Jeffers. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bonnie and Carl Scott, Richard Townsend; Paternal grandparents, Lionel and Mary Ellen Spring; mother-in-law, Danna Jeffers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Funeral Services will also be held on Friday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home in Albia with Craig Swaby officiating. Carhartt clothes appreciated in honor of Terryโ€™s favorite attire. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Terry's life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and hard work. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. We invite you to share your memories of Terry and upload photos to the memorial page, as we celebrate a life well-lived and remember a man dearly missed. Many looked up to Terry as an idol. A template of what a man, husband & father should be. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Charlene Alice (Overton) Bodart, departed this world peacefully surrounded by her family on August 2, 2025, at Oskaloosa Serenity house. Born on December 2, 1934, in Hillsboro, Iowa. Charlene's life journey was marked by dedication and love. She was a woman of resilience and determination, who began her education in a one-room schoolhouse, and later emerged as a devoted Registered Nurse.

Her marriage to Dale Bodart was a shining testament of love, spanning a remarkable 69 years. Charlene and Dale met and married in Colorado Springs, eventually settling in Oskaloosa, Iowa in 1969, where she worked at the Mahaska hospital and then Mahaska Manor. Charlene's dedication to her family was unwavering. She was a proud band mom, nurse, a diligent brownie, and Girl Scout leader, and an irreplaceable presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Charlene's love was not confined to her family alone. She extended her warmth to everyone she met, crocheting blankets, hats, and booties for preemie babies and donating them to local hospitals in Apache Junction, Arizona, where she and Dale lived part-time after retirement. She was a 'Red Hat lady,' adding a splash of color and joy wherever she went.

Charlene is survived by her loving husband, Dale Bodart, and her daughters, Susan Burnham (Kevin), Sheri Brown (Brian), and her son Mike Bodart (Cyndi). Her spirit lives on through her grandchildren: Chris Collins, Tyler Brown, Megan McLaren, Cody Brown, and, Chance Bodart; and great-grandchildren, Christian Collins, Lillian McLaren and Rylan Sue Ladely. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice and Charles Overton; her brother, Gary Overton and his wife, Mary Lou; and her sister, Ardis Fett, with her husband, Clifford; a niece, Sara Statter; and a special aunt, Hellen Overton, and her husband, Lee.

In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Charlene has become a part of each one of us, and her legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to inspire us. We invite you to share your cherished memories and photos of Charlene on the memorial page, to celebrate the remarkable life of this extraordinary woman.

There will be no services for Charlene per her request. Her body will be cremated and placed with her parents in Donnellson, Iowa. A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Oskaloosa Serenity House in Charleneโ€˜s name!๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
