RELEASE: Nebraska Docuseries People Worth Caring About Now Streaming on Smart TVs Nationwide » https://nehca.org/NEHCA/News/25.07.17News.aspx

People Worth Caring About, the award-winning, unscripted documentary series that features health care workers and residents at seven Nebraska nursing home and assisted living communities, is now streaming on smart TV platforms nationwide. People Worth Caring About can be viewed on multiple streaming platforms through Roku, Samsung TV, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire devices.

Produced in partnership with Strategic Pete and Golden Gen Movement, the seven-part series addresses workforce challenges in long-term care, particularly those in rural areas, while emphasizing the deep, daily connections between caregivers and residents. The project was made possible by Nebraska Health Care Foundation.

“We never set out to make just another doc,” says Peter Murphy Lewis, People Worth Caring About creator and host, “We wanted to change how America sees long-term care workers. These streaming platforms make that possible.”

The series, filmed over seven days across Nebraska, features the following facilities:
• Brookestone View, Broken Bow
• Good Samaritan Society- Auburn, Auburn
• New Cassel Retirement Center, Omaha
• Nye Legacy Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fremont
• Stone Hearth Estates, Gothenburg
• The Grace Space, Lincoln
• Wakefield Health Care Center, Wakefield

“The acceptance of the People Worth Caring About docuseries by these streaming platforms speaks volumes about the quality of the production,” said Jalene Carpenter, President and CEO of Nebraska Health Care Association. “We’re incredibly proud to share the authentic, everyday interactions happening in nursing homes and assisted living communities with a broader audience.”

Since its debut, People Worth Caring About has received nearly 100,000 views, inspired sister associations in Ohio, New Mexico, and Kentucky to film their own series, and changed perceptions about what it’s like to live and work in long-term care. One social media follower commented, “You managed to change my mind about living in a long-term care facility when and if I’m privileged.”
