Stop in & say goodbye to Kaiden today! Today is Kaiden's last day as a pharmacy technician. He is leaving to further his education @ Logan Chiropractic College in the greater St Louis area. We will miss him, & I know he will miss the customers he has got to know over the last couple of years.

Ever wonder what a PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Manager) actually does? Think of them as the middleman in the world of pharmacy – except this middleman charges you an entry fee, rearranges your furniture, and then tells you they “saved” you money by using the couch you already paid for.

These prescription puppeteers claim to negotiate better drug prices for patients, but somewhere along the way, that "savings" magically becomes their profit. Oh, and they're the ones deciding if YOUR medication is really necessary. Spoiler alert: It’s often a no unless it’s cheap.

If PBMs had a motto, it might read something like, “For every dollar we save you, we keep a hundred for ourselves. You’re welcome!”

Although I did not author this post, this is a classmate of mine. His pharmacy had been in business over 120 years. He is a 4th generation pharmacist. No one outside the realm of pharmacy will understand the decisions & sacrifices we make to play the game. The evil corruption of insurance companies & the 3 letter chain is beyond comprehension.

It's not that Walgreens didn't modernize or couldn't compete with Amazon. The 124 year old company is being squeezed to death by monopolistic pharmacy benefit managers.
