Dear Friends and Family,

After nearly 40 years of practicing optometry, I have decided to retire at the end of March 2023. It is a very difficult decision, but everything is falling into place to make it possible for me to slow down. I have enjoyed every minute of my profession and providing eyecare to all of you.

I want to thank you for trusting Sandia Vision Clinic and me with your eyecare. I know many of you started your careers when I did, started your families when I did, and shared the details of your lives with me. Because of that, I feel like we are family.

Many of you have asked, “Who is going to take over as my eye doctor after you leave?” I want you to know you are in good hands. We have five excellent doctors at Sandia Vision Clinic. Drs. Hockett, Byington, Estrada, Sandoval, and Magnus will be here for your continuing eye care needs. For those of you who wear scleral contact lenses and/or have dry eyes, Dr. Hockett is our scleral contact lens and dry eye specialist. If I have been treating you for glaucoma, I recommend you continue your care with Dr. Estrada or Sandoval.

Our staff will assist you in scheduling future visits. I will still be available for appointments on Mondays at our Heights location and Tuesdays at our Nob Hill location until the end of March 2023.

I feel very fortunate to have met you. Thank you for allowing me to be your eye doctor all these years.
