Today’s reminder: rest is productive 🤍

Taking a pause doesn’t mean you’re falling behind. Rest allows your mind and body to reset, restore, and show up with more clarity and care. You don’t have to earn rest—you deserve it.

Give yourself permission to slow down today. Even small moments of rest matter 🌱

How do you truly say goodbye? It often feels less like a farewell and more like pulling your heart out and putting it back with a piece missing.

In this week’s "Real Talk," Dr. Ross puts words to the indescribable "untamed river" of grief. That wrenching feeling where the world stops, yet everything around you keeps moving. If you are wondering "who is truly dead—is it them, or is it me?"—please know you are not alone.

We are here to help you navigate the seasons of loss and find the hope that propels you forward.

Take a deep breath 🤍
Right here. Right now.

You are doing better than you think, even on the days it doesn’t feel that way. Progress isn’t always loud or visible—sometimes it looks like surviving, trying again, or simply pausing to breathe.

Be gentle with yourself today. You deserve patience, compassion, and rest 🌱

Today’s gentle check-in 🤍

What’s one thing you love about yourself today?
It doesn’t have to be big. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
Sometimes loving yourself looks like showing up, resting when needed, or choosing kindness toward your own heart.

Drop one thing you appreciate about yourself below or hold it quietly just for you ❤️✨
Self-love is a practice, and you are worthy of it every single day.

Forget "New Year, New You." Let's talk about the "Real You" in 2026. ✨

As we step into 2026, there’s so much pressure to have perfectly shiny resolutions. But at Faith Works Counseling, we know the truth: life gets messy. Even in a new year.

Your mental health will have spills. You will have overwhelmed days, anxious moments, and times when you just feel stuck. That’s not failure; that’s being human.

Instead of rigid resolutions, we suggest carrying a "Mental Spill Kit" into 2026. It’s about having the tools to clean up life's inevitable messes with grace, rather than panic.

Here’s what’s inside our ideal kit:

🤧 Emotional Release (Tissues): Give yourself permission to feel it all. Cry, vent, grieve. Bottling it up only makes the spill bigger later.

💧 Basic Needs (Water): You can’t mentally cope if your physical tank is empty. Hydrate, eat something nourishing, move your body. Back to basics.

😴 Rest (The Pouch): Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is stop. The spill can wait five minutes while you regulate your nervous system.

❤️‍🩹 Self-Forgiveness Spray: The essential cleaning agent for shame. Did you mess up? Okay. Spray some grace on it, learn, and move forward without beating yourself up.

This year, resolve to be kinder to yourself when things get messy. We’re here to help you build your kit.

Happy New Year from all of us at Faith Works Counseling!

Merry Christmas 🤍🎄

A gentle reminder for today and every day
Healing is not rushed. It is a slow, patient untangling.

If this season feels joyful, we celebrate with you.
If it feels heavy, complicated, or quiet, you are still doing enough.

Be patient with your heart. Be kind to your mind.
Healing takes time—and you are allowed to move at your own pace 🖤✨

Representation matters
Even in faith

This clip challenges the idea that Jesus has only ever been portrayed one way and opens space for conversations about history, culture, and perspective

For many families, faith is deeply personal and deeply connected to identity
There is nothing wrong with questioning inherited imagery and choosing representations that reflect truth and lived experience

Faith does not disappear when we ask questions
It becomes more honest 🖤
