Sickle cell disease causes red blood cells to form a “C” or sickle shape, making it harder for them to carry oxygen and flow through the body.

This can lead to serious health challenges — but with early diagnosis, proper care and community support, people with sickle cell disease can live longer, healthier lives.

This National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, we encourage you to learn more, share resources and help raise awareness in your community.

🎒📚 Molina Healthcare was proud to sponsor the annual backpack giveaway at the 7th Annual Chaves County Health Expo!

More than 1,000 community members filled the Roswell Mall, which was transformed into a one-stop shop for back-to-school prep and vital resources. With over 60 vendors, families had access to eye screenings, vaccinations and so much more — just in time for the new school year.

We’re honored to stand alongside community partners and support families across New Mexico.

Molina Healthcare proudly joined the National Night Out festivities in Truth or Consequences, celebrating community connection, safety awareness and support for local law enforcement and resources.

📚 We partnered with Representatives Rebecca Dow and Gail Armstrong to distribute backpacks filled with school supplies to local students, helping them start the school year ready to succeed.

🤝 We also teamed up with the Rotary Club to help fund Hero Bags — special kits provided to law enforcement to support children experiencing behavioral health or communication challenges during emergency calls.

We’re grateful to Sierra County, the representatives and our partners for welcoming us and making this evening a true celebration of unity, care, and community support.

🎒📚 Earlier this month, we teamed up with Ernie Pyle Middle School for a back-to-school event that helped families start the year prepared and supported!

Students received backpacks, school supplies and resources to join sports, while families accessed important Medicaid services and immunizations. Together, we provided over 100 backpacks and 70 immunizations to those who needed them most.

We’re proud to support our community and help set students up for a healthy, successful school year! 💙

We partnered with La Casa Family Health Center to host a series of back-to-school events across Roswell, Portales and Clovis. Together, we sponsored and distributed 250 backpacks filled with school supplies to help local students start the year strong. 📚✏️

The events were a true community effort! Families connected with local organizations that shared valuable resources, while La Casa’s state-of-the-art dental bus provided free dental screenings. To top it off, generous barbers donated their time and talent to give kids fresh back-to-school haircuts. ✂️👦👧

We’re proud to stand alongside our partners in making sure children head into the new school year healthy, confident and ready to succeed.
