Hi, I’m Cyndi. I am a homeschooling mother with 3 teenage daughters. I used to be an engineer and I love all geeky things like math, science and robotics. I have lived in Albuquerque since elementary school and my husband was born and raised here. II graduated from UNM with a degree in electrical engineering and worked at Intel for 13 years. I quit my job to stay home and homeschool my kids. Now we are active in the homeschool community.
Way back in 2009 my husband was in a car accident. We thought he was basically OK, but after 2 elbow surgeries and trying to find out why he lost feeling in his fingers we found out that he had a severe herniation in his neck cutting off the nerve root. After two more surgeries, the pain went away for a few months, but then he was in all over chronic pain and the doctors were at a loss as to how to help him. They started prescribing oxycontin, and since my husband has had a propensity for liver issues since childhood, they didn’t want him to have Tylenol, so they gave him pure Oxy. Eventually he was taking 45mg at a time and our lives were more or less destroyed.
· chiropractic care,
· Cranial Sacral therapy,
· herbs,
· supplements,
· Myofascial therapy,
· Rolfing,
· Acupuncture,
· And probably more I cannot think of right now.
Nothing helped. He worked less and less until he basically stopped working at all. Our savings and the money from the accident settlement were completely gone. There was nothing left to do.
His pain continued to get worse. His knee pain had become the primary issue now. Someone had run into him with a scooter and that ripped out his ACL graph in his knee, but 3 other ligaments were compromised in that knee too. His pain doctor recommended that Brian see a surgeon that works on professional athletes and Olympians, so we went to Colorado. The doctor did some tests and said, “You need double knee replacements, but you are too young. When you want to kill yourself before taking your next step come back and see us. In the meantime, you will wear these knee braces every day until your surgery.” And we went home. He shaved his legs to keep the braces from sliding down. He didn’t care to wear the sleeve under them because they slipped too much. Brian wore those knee braces for 3 years. There was no improvement and no end in sight. It had been six years since the car accident. One a day when he was feeling a bit better, he wanted to mow the grass to help out around the house. The pain from walking on the uneven grass sent him to bed for a week. Brian wore those knee braces for 3 years.
Then it happened. A friend invited me to learn about doTERRA essential oils. I was intrigued. I thought essential oils were just about smelling good and helping with labor. Those were the only ways I had used them. But I was shown a book about how you could use these oils for just about every condition. I had seen similar books at Whole Foods for different herbs and we had tried those with no results, but something about this seemed different. Maybe it was that the oils were so concentrated that 1 drop of peppermint was equal to 28 cups of peppermint tea. That certainly seemed like it was very potent. I went home after purchasing a kit, and I bought a book from Amazon to tell me how to use these oils. Then, I listed every condition my husband had and each oil/product that could help. We decided we were all in. We bought another kit with everything included. And started a journey.
My husband took the vitamins to create a healthy foundation. The Alpha CRS was unlike any supplement he had tried before. It combined so many herbals and botanicals to help the body in a variety of ways. Then we started oils to help his liver, blood sugar, and hormones. Then we used oils to target his ligaments and cartilage in his knees.
Slowly we started to see changes. After six months, Brian was going to work more than he was staying home. We continued to use the oils and supplements. Then he decided to stop using his knee braces. I bought him a cloth brace to slide on. After nine months he mowed the grass with no braces at all. He still went to work the very next day. The braces don’t get used any more at all. My husband is mostly back to himself. And we are able to manage his pain with natural options. We no longer use prescription pain medication nor over the counter medication. When we need a little bit more, we use the Deep Blue Polyphenol Complex, or the Turmeric Dual Chamber capsules. And his health is much better than we ever experienced before. Thank you doTERRA, you gave me my family back!
Now I’m on a mission to help anyone and everyone find out the benefit of a healthy lifestyle. How to keep toxins from destroying your family, whether those toxins come from pharmaceuticals or cleaning products or the new carpet you just installed. And I want everyone to learn about benefits of essential oils as primary healthcare. They can help everyone. From physical issues, to emotional ones. There is an oil to help you care for your self and your family. You can remove toxins from your home and have a healthier and happy family.
This page Its about our health and the journey we go through to find it. Its about being a mother and doing the best we can to support our families. Whether you are dealing with scrapes and cuts, runny noses, or something more serious the journey we go through is profound. I want to support other mothers through their journey. Through the celebrations and struggles. If its eating healthy or getting the motivation to exercise or learning to get everyone to sleep through the night, I have been there. I want to serve other mamas with what I have learned. To be able to support you through parenting, schooling, and reaching your goals whatever they may be. From toddlers to teens these kids are beautiful people that we have in our lives for a short season. It’s fun, it’s messy, it’s never what we expect. We are all going through some type of a journey and usually no one is helping Mom. You are usually the one helping everyone else. Hopefully this page will encourage you through the journey your on, and if we become friends and build a community then that is even better. Hugs Cyndi
