NMHCA/NMCAL was proud to have our Senior Director of Member Services, Tracy Alter, representing long-term care at Senior Day at the Roundhouse! Senior Day at the Roundhouse brings together older adults, advocates, providers, and community partners from across New Mexico to engage with legislators and highlight the issues that matter most to seniors. It’s an important opportunity to elevate the voices of aging New Mexicans and to discuss policies that impact senior services, healthcare access, and long-term care across our state. NMHCA/NMCAL is incredibly grateful for members who advocate for the future of long-term care in New Mexico. The Genesis team recently traveled to Santa Fe to meet with state Representative Joseph Franklin Hernandez and advocate for increased funding to support behavioral health services in long-term care facilities across our state. As resident needs become more complex, access to strong behavioral health resources is more important than ever. Ensuring facilities have the funding and tools necessary to provide comprehensive, person-centered care strengthens outcomes for residents, supports caregivers, and enhances quality of life. We sincerely appreciate the Genesis team for stepping up, engaging in meaningful conversations, and representing the long-term care community at the Roundhouse. Your advocacy makes a difference for providers and the residents we serve throughout New Mexico.
