Hospital Overview
Central Desert Behavioral Health Hospital is a 64-bed inpatient hospital offering advanced programming and services for the treatment of behavioral health illness for older adults. The hospital provides professional care for individuals who are experiencing a wide range of emotional, social and behavioral needs affecting the healthy function of their daily lives. Mental health disorders affect at least 17% of individuals age 55 or older and the risk for depression is four times greater than that of the general population*. Due to the presence of other medical conditions, depression and other mental disorders often go undiagnosed in older patients.
Our Older Adult Inpatient Program offers a secure healing environment for adults who face psychiatric or emotional issues requiring hospitalization. This program is customized for adults age 50 and older who suffer from many different types of mental illness and/or Dementia related concerns. Our priority is aimed at the best patient care possible for each patient through an integrated clinical practice. Our professionals are trained to care for individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional, social and behavioral needs affecting the healthy function of their daily lives.
Our programs are medically supervised by an independent Board Certified Geriatric Psychiatrist and a team of trained behavioral health professionals. Our staff includes: Independent psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Licensed Social Workers, Recreational Therapists, and Mental Health Technicians.
