Today marks the first day of , a month-long celebration of LGBTQ+ communities around the world, and a recognition of the Stonewall Uprising in June 1969 that helped vitalize the modern gay rights movement.
As we commemorate Pride Month, let us also recognize the ongoing disparities LGBTQ+ individuals face in accessing quality care. LGBTQ+ patients may require special care when they are experiencing serious illness at the end of life.
Follow NHPCO accounts throughout June as we share NHPCO health equity resources and highlight some member organizations and individuals who provide programs, policies, and best practices that demonstrate efforts to increase access to and quality of care for the LGBTQ+ community.
