****Per the New Mexico Dental Association and the CDC, dental office staff should continue to remain masked. Masks for patients are optional per the governor of New Mexico.****

****Per the New Mexico Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the CDC, dental offices should continue to perform screenings before patients, staff or family members may enter the office.****

In addition, CDC recommendations require all patients, staff and family members to ****remain masked in healthcare facilities, regardless of vaccination status.**** The safety of our team and our patients is our priority, and we appreciate your understanding and assistance in helping us to provide essential dental care to our patients in a safe environment.

UPDATE MAY 12, 2020:

The governor of New Mexico, in concert with the New Mexico Dental Association, has developed strict guidelines by which we may resume the full scope of orthodontic care for our patients. We are looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces! We continue to work to contact each patient to schedule your next visit.

You will see some changes at your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and our team. We want to assure you that we have taken steps toward keeping our office a safe place for you to visit. Check your email for more details!

PLEASE REVIEW OUR NEW CHECK-IN PROCEDURE:

o When you arrive for your appointment, we ask that you remain in your vehicle and send a text message stating the name of the patient(s) to our office phone number (505) 508-4939 to let us know of your arrival. If you do not receive a text back from us within five minutes, please call us at (505) 508-4939.

o We will text you a link to a wellness screening questionnaire (the link is also available in the comments below, as a QR code on our door, and on our website). We ask that one questionnaire be completed for each patient and accompanying adult that plans to enter the office. Dr. Casaus will review your responses and call you with any follow-up questions.

o Everyone that enters our office must be wearing a mask. We ask that you please bring your own cloth or disposable facemask for use in our office.

o Upon entering the office, we will provide you with hand sanitizer and take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer before you are seated for your appointment. We will also ask you to rinse with a hydrogen peroxide solution for one minute as recommended by the ADA to reduce oral viral load prior to your appointment.

We look forward to seeing you and we encourage you to contact our office by phone or email with any concerns or questions you might have regarding these policies or your treatment. Per order of the governor of New Mexico, we have suspended all non-urgent orthodontic care until Monday, May 18, 2020. We are working to contact each patient scheduled before that date to reschedule your appointment. We will be open by appointment only for orthodontic emergencies until May 18.

Thank you all for your help and understanding as we work to protect our patients, families, staff and community from the spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. Per recommendations from the New Mexico Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Centers for Disease Control, we have closed our office and suspended all non-urgent orthodontic care effective March 17, 2020.
