June ended up being quite busy!! With 4 of those births occurring on one day in under 18hrs. And yes, I made them all! I typically take my summers off to spend time with my own children for their school break, but a dear and close friend of mine was expecting her first baby at the end of June. How could I say no. And what a blessing it was I decided to take births-4 of those mamas I served happened to be repeat clients. My heart is full and overflowing with gratitude. ❤️ And I’ll still get a little break with my boys before school starts and the very busy upcoming fall/winter babies are due!

Hello aspiring, future Midwives! I now have space available for a full-time apprentice midwife and I will begin interviews next week. Happy international day of the midwife!! ❤️ I got to see a freshly postpartum mama, and witness a mama roar her baby earth side. Best day ever!
I don’t have many photos to post, as I never think to ask or post pictures of myself with mamas and babies. 🤷‍♀️ It’s all about my clients. It’s their time to shine! Sending lots of love to all my colleagues and midwife friends. I absolutely love what I do, and I am a midwife because of women like you. ❤️❤️❤️

I don’t get around to posting much, because It’s been busy! So far just In the last 15 days we’ve been to 7 births! And February isn’t over yet! So many boys!

CONGRATULATIONS!! 🎉 to my amazing apprentice, Carolina!
She successfully completed her 4 year midwifery apprenticeship, 3 of those years being with me (Louise) ☺️. I’m proud to share with you her passing of the NARM exam! She will soon be completing the final step to licensure in New Mexico!!!
Carolina is such a lovely, and caring person, knowledgeable, and thoughtful ❤️ It’s been so lovely to witness her confidence, growth and dedication to women and families in our community ❤️ I’m proud!

Happy International homebirth day!
I love homebirth so much. ❤️
Babies born in the same sacred space as when they were conceived. Babies are born in small casitas to two story homes, RV’s, yurts, ranches and straw bale homes. Babies are born into their mothers waiting hands. Eager siblings peaking behind the door, with a few helping catch! Alert babies born peacefully. The most wonderfully empowering and beautiful thing about homebirth is YOU did it! YOU! No one else, not even me. YOU! With all your power, strength, sweat and tears. I hold that space for each and every birth. The magical in-between journey earth side.
So here’s to celebrating homebirth! Each and everyday. The quiet celebrations and joyous moments the world hardly gets to see.
