Oh you definitely will !! I've actually noticed it requires us to tune in EVEN MORE

There's true upsides of bringing the practice into YOUR space, inclusive of and not limited to grabbing a bunch of pillows and blankets for savasana :-D

Yoga is a wonderful way for us to help open and heal our 3rd chakra because it allows us to participate in an act of loving self-discipline. Every time we come to our mats to practice, without even realizing it, we’re setting the goal or intention of participating in and completing our practice regardless of how long or how much we’re moving. By doing this we’re not only holding the space we need for ourselves to center and connect, but we’re also able to help empower and motivate ourselves to complete other tasks. Balancing Solar Plexus Chakra with yoga asanas involves building strength and stamina in your core. Having a strong core is the foundation of yoga. Strength developed through doing yoga asanas can be utilized beyond the mat in your daily life. It is even said that when we actively work on strengthening our core we’re also working on strengthening our relationship with ourselves and the ability to persevere. So what are some of our top picks for 3rd Chakra? Try out Plank Pose, Boat, Cobra or a Bow Pose!

Lastly, the easiest way to help ourselves when we’re struggling to balance our Solar Plexus Chakra is to laugh! Choose to laugh out loud for no reason, watch a funny cat video on youtube, a comedy show, or spend time with people who make you laugh. Not only does laughter make you feel good while elevating your vibration, it’s fun, and it brings healing and balance to your solar plexus! It ignites your will to live, and relieves the pressure of our human identity. So, basically we’re telling you to go let loose, have a good time, and not take everything so seriously. Sometimes in order to find the answers we seek, like what do I really want, or how do I move forward to reach my goals, we must allow ourselves to experience joy  and take off some of the pressure. When you’re able to relax and reflect without pressure you're better able to tune in to what you really want and create a plan of how to get there. Then we have the passion and energy to move in the direction that is most aligned for us.

What practices help YOU to stay motivated and work towards what you want? We’d love for you to share your thoughts below!

So, how do we heal and balance our 3rd Chakra?

Sit in stillness for some time and invite your fear to show itself to you. Love the part of you that is afraid and allow the fears that arise from within you to simply be. Do a Solar Plexus Chakra meditation, sit, and breathe, strive to tolerate whatever sensations arise, and then acknowledge them, love them and release them. This allows the fearful part of you to integrate with the whole. Then ask yourself WHAT DO YOU WANT or HOW ARE YOU GOING TO WORK WITH THIS?

Set a goal and make a plan. Break it down into small steps, and give yourself a timeline for each. The idea is not to be rigid, but to get yourself moving and taking action towards something tangible. When you succeed, reward yourself.

Utilize affirmations to help you concentrate on your goals and motivate yourself to act!

For the Solar Plexus Chakra the base is “I DO” or you can use the seed syllable “RAM” and repeat that.

I do ____

Some examples may be:

I do have the confidence to welcome new experiences
I do hold the key to my own happiness
I do not have to settle for less than I deserve
I do have the power to accomplish my life goals
I do acknowledge I am the architect of my own life

As you’re reading this, we invite you to take just a moment to do a self affirmation. It might be as simple as just “I do”- acknowledging this living experience, your body, this moment…

What affirmation is speaking to you? We’d love for you to share with us!!

Our 3rd Chakra is called Manipura. In Sanskrit, Manipura means “city of jewels”. Our Solar Plexus Chakra as it suggests is located in our Solar Plexus. Its color is yellow, and the element with which it is associated the most is the fire element. It is the Chakra of internal power, strength of will and individual identity. While the first and second Chakras can be mainly considered the storehouse of instincts, impulses and urges – seeking basic survival and pleasure – Manipura serves as the willing centre which is meant to answer the question: “Who am I as a person and what do I want?” As such the Solar Plexus Chakra is the centre of personal power, confidence and self-discipline. It allows us to make conscious choices, to set goals and act on them in the world. It gives us the strength to meet with challenges and move forward in life with confidence and power.

On the physical level the Solar Plexus Chakra is associated with digestion and in a way, this is exactly what it is doing on an energetic level: The Solar Plexus Chakra ‘digests’ and integrates all the different drives, instincts and experiences into a coherent self-image, an identity, and thus gives those experiences context, meaning and direction.

Manipura provides the energetic centre for a healthy personality which can withstand external pressures and influences. It also controls inner urges and helps to concentrate one’s energy into one direction and intention. When open and balanced it embodies confidence, clarity, integrity, dignity, independence, reliability, discipline and determination. When blocked or out of balance we can experience a lack of will and resolution, doubtfulness, lack of stress-resistance (all is “too much”), a general feeling of being unable to cope or succeed, negative self- image and intense self-demands.

Take a moment to pause and reflect on how you have been feeling lately in relation to motivation and willpower. Have you been feeling determined, empowered, like you have a clear view of your goals? Or maybe you’re feeling uncertain and unmotivated in moving forward?

So, what are some other ways to heal and balance our 2nd chakra?

Get as much exposure as you can to bodies of water. Take a salt bath at home, dangle your feet in a lake, swim in the ocean, or hike along a river. Water is the element associated with the sacral chakra and exposure to it can help to achieve balance.

Make art! Find a creative outlet that you’ve neglected or always wanted to try and take a class or just start on your own. Don’t censor and don’t judge, just let creative energy flow out of you.

Work on being mindful of which emotions arise in specific situations. If this is difficult, just give yourself permission to observe. Over time you can consider ways to change negative emotional habits into positive ones.

Leave work early one day and don’t do anything to fill that free time. Just relax, be spontaneous, and follow your bliss!

Keep a journal using writing prompts aimed at healing your sacral chakra. Start with, “What do I find pleasure in?” “Do I overindulge or under indulge in life?” “In what situations am I ruled by my emotions?”

One of the simplest ways to help balance our chakras is by utilizing affirmations. Words are energy as well, so thinking a particular thought sends energy to chakras, which can block them, overstimulate them, or balance them.

For the Sacral Chakra the base is “I FEEL” or you can use the seed syllable “VAM” and repeat that.

I feel ____

Some examples may be:

I feel comfortable in my own skin
I feel my creativity flow through me with ease
I feel connected to others without losing myself
I feel my feelings and respond with intention
I feel joyful, courageous, and strong

As you’re reading this, we invite you to take just a moment to do a self affirmation. It might be as simple as just “I feel”- acknowledging this living experience, your body, this moment…

What is your reminder to yourself? We would love for you to share with us!

If you’ve been experiencing any lack of creative energy, emotional instability, or disconnection to yourself or others you may have an unbalanced or blocked Sacral Chakra. Not to worry though! Being proactive in healing and unblocking Svadhisthana is a wonderful opportunity for you to partake in some much needed self care and fun. It’s important to remember to check in with how we’re feeling because we can’t pour from an empty cup right?

Yoga of course is a wonderful way to help balance, heal, and activate our chakras! The Sacral Chakra is your main emotional center. Repressed emotions and feelings are very often trapped inside your physical body, and exercise is one of the best ways of releasing and letting go of them. Balancing Sacral Chakra with yoga involves building strength and flexibility in your hips and all the muscles surrounding your pelvis. A yoga practice that emphasizes opening the hips will help you to relax and regain your emotional equilibrium. So what are some poses we love to use to help heal and balance our 2nd chakra? Try out Goddess Pose, Crescent Lunge, Pigeon Pose, and our top choice pictured above - Triangle Pose! Not only does Triangle Pose help to build strength and flexibility in the legs, hamstrings, and hips, it also allows us to feel more creative, connected, joyous, and passionate.

Lastly, one of the simplest ways to help us connect to Svadhisthana is to stop and smell the roses. Make time to notice things and try to connect to the original feeling of joy that they brought to you. Setting an intention to allow yourself to enjoy your human experience will help to empower and remind yourself that you are in charge of your own happiness. It’s your life, enjoy the ride, find your flow, play, dance, sing, live, love, and accept yourself and your path.

What helps YOU tap into that creative side? We'd love for you to share below!

Our 2nd Chakra is called Svadhisthana. In Sanskrit, Svadhisthana means “the dwelling place of the self”, and some also say it has another meaning to“take pleasure in”. The Sacral Chakra is housed within the element of water, and corresponds with the flow of our emotions. It is often represented by the color orange signifying life-force, vitality, passion and creativity. Svadhisthana, like Muladhara is governed by Apana Vayu and the grounding , downward flow of our life force into the Earth.

The Sacral Chakra is located about three inches below the navel, at the center of your lower belly (includes lower pelvis, womb, and ge****ls). In the back, it’s located within the lumbar vertebrae. Just like water, the sacral energy controls fluidity, versatility, and freedom, whether sexual, emotional, or creative. It is instrumental in developing flexibility in our lives and supports personal expansion and the relation of identity through connection with ourselves, others and the world.

When in balance we experience feelings of creativity, playfulness, and pleasure both sensual and sexual. Some signs of imbalance are creative blocks, addictive/compulsive behaviors, sexual dysfunction, fear of change, and emotional instability.

Take a moment and ask yourself how you’ve been feeling lately in your day to day life and the transitions between moments. Have you been giving yourself the grace to adapt and change as needed ? Have you been allowing yourself to play and explore your desires?
