Founded in February 1998, the purpose of the Behavior Therapist Association, P.A., is to promote and support the provision of quality Behavioral Support Consultation (BSC) services in the state of New Mexico. This can include advocacy, lobbying, networking, education, and promotion of ethical practice information. The emphasis of the organization is on Behavioral Support Consultation for persons receiving services through the Developmental Disabilities Waiver. The Behavior Therapist Association meets monthly. The meetings provide an opportunity for providers to network and discuss concerns related to the New Mexico Developmental Disabilities Waiver (DDW) and the practice of Behavioral Support Consultation . We provide information on potential medicaid funding cuts, rate cuts, changes to Standards of Practice, etc.
