Our Story
We recognize that primary prevention is an important part of keeping society healthy. New Heart offers a fitness center open to anyone interested in a healthy lifestyle, along with caregivers of heart patients. New Heart has implemented a series of group fitness programs including yoga, stretching, and interval training classes, while also participating in the Medicare-funded Silver Sneakers program.
In July of 2016 the New Heart Center for Wellness, Fitness and Cardiac Rehabilitation partnered with the New Mexico Heart Institute Foundation, a non-profit organization. The NM Heart Institute Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the cardiovascular health of all New Mexicans through education, heart health/wellness programs and research. Under the supervision of Dr. Barry Ramo, New Heart now helps thousands of patients survive and thrive with heart health in mind.
New Heart programs now include cardiac rehabilitation, prevention-as-treatment for those who have heart disease or are at risk to develop heart disease, and a brand new exercise therapy for cancer survivorship program for those in any stage of cancer or treatment.
