Our Story
The Family Living Provider program offers a natural environment in a family/home for the support and nurturing of an individual, while emphasizing activities within our community. These supports are provided while integrating with other family members, and when appropriate, involvement in a work and/or educational plan during the day. This service may be in one’s own home or that of another family approved by the Medicaid Waiver and Cornucopia, Inc.
Cornucopia’s Greenhouse Initiative is a program that gives participants opportunities to learn and develop life skills, including cooperation with others, setting and working toward common goals, meeting responsibilities, decision-making, and problem solving. The Greenhouse program also encourages inter-generational interaction as younger participants co-labor with our elderly participants on the same garden projects and goals. Participants will have access to educational activities in the greenhouse garden and can voluntarily participate in planting, tending, harvesting, packaging, selling, and consuming produce from the greenhouse according to their abilities and preferences. Cornucopia is the only adult day service agency in the South Valley with a greenhouse program specifically designed to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities and the elderly.
