Trailblazer Pediatrics

Trailblazer Pediatrics Personal, modern pediatric care focused on relationships, prevention, and helping kids thrive.

Founder + Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Trailblazer Pediatrics

I’m passionate about providing thoughtful, relationship-based care for kids and families. With a focus on prevention, connection, and accessibility, I built Trailblazer Pediatrics to bring a more personal and modern approach to pediatric medicine. My goal is to help every child grow with confidence, curiosity, and wellness. 🌿💫

POV: the aftermath of a busy (and very happy) clinic day 🧸✨

Toys on the floor, little giggles still echoing, and tiny patients who came in unsure—but left smiling. That’s exactly how this space was designed.

At Trailblazer Pediatrics, everything is built around making kids feel safe, comfortable, and in control. We take our time here. No rushing, no overwhelm—just a warm, welcoming environment where little ones can ease in, explore, and trust before anything “medical” even begins.

And because I’m not rushing through a packed schedule, I get to do what matters most—spend real, meaningful time with each patient and family 🤍

It also means every room is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each visit, so you can feel confident knowing you’re walking into a fresh, clean space (yes, even the toys ✨).

Healthcare doesn’t have to feel scary—and here, it doesn’t.

Eczema is a chronic skin condition—it’s not something you can “cure,” no matter what you see on social media.

Just like asthma or other chronic conditions, eczema is something your child learns to manage over time. And without daily moisturization, it can quickly spiral into flares like this.

As kids get older, it’s so important to keep reminding them (and yes… nagging a little 🙃) to moisturize every single day—especially in dry climates where eczema loves to act up.

You may also see advice online—especially for babies and young children—about eliminating certain foods or drastically changing diets to “fix” eczema. Most of this is not evidence-based, and making those changes without medical guidance can do more harm than good. Always talk with your provider before following trends you see online.

When daily maintenance is skipped, flares can become more severe and sometimes require topical steroids to calm things down.

And a reminder: topical steroids are not the enemy. When used appropriately, they are safe and incredibly effective at getting eczema back under control.

Daily care isn’t optional—it’s the game plan for calmer skin, fewer flares, and happier kiddos 💙

April 2 is World Autism Acceptance Day—and while awareness has grown, true acceptance and inclusion still have a long way to go.

Over the years working in pediatric practices, I’ve seen firsthand how traditional fee-for-service (insurance-based) clinics often aren’t built with neurodivergent children in mind. They’re fast-paced, schedule-driven, and focused on efficiency—meaning kids are often rushed into unfamiliar environments, expected to immediately cooperate, stand on a scale, tolerate vitals, and be examined… all before they’ve had a chance to feel safe or regulated.

For many children with autism or sensory differences, that experience can be overwhelming—not because they’re “difficult,” but because the system isn’t designed for them.

That’s exactly why I’ve built something different.

In my pediatric DPC clinic, Trailblazer Pediatrics, I have the ability to slow things down. To give kids time to explore the space, to build trust, to ease into the visit in a way that respects their individual needs. There’s no pressure to rush, no quotas tied to insurance reimbursements—just real, patient-centered care.

Because sometimes care takes a little longer.
Sometimes it looks different.
And that’s not just okay—it’s exactly what true inclusion in healthcare should be.

This is what it means to meet patients where they are. 🩵

I worked in a system where care was driven by numbers, codes, and coverage—not by what patients truly needed… and that’s where this dream began

💫✂️ This moment felt so surreal. I built this clinic with intention—to do pediatrics differently. Through a Direct Primary Care model, I’m able to provide longer visits, deeper connections, and truly personalized care—without the rush and without the insurance red tape.

Direct Primary Care is one of those things you don’t fully understand you need… until you experience it. It’s not just about the level of care (which is truly next-level), it’s about the access. Having direct, reliable access to your child’s provider—when you need it, how you need it—is something families quickly realize they’ve been missing all along. That small monthly investment becomes worth every penny (and then some) when you experience the peace of mind, the convenience, and the relationship that comes with it.

I’m beyond grateful for my family, a few close friends, and my incredibly loyal patients who showed up to celebrate and support this dream. You are the heart behind everything I’m building, and it means more than I can express 🤍

A heartfelt thank you to the for hosting such a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, to Marisa from .a.s._charcuterie for the beautiful spread, and to the amazing community partners who came out to support a clinic rooted in community—

A special thank you to .roldan.17 for your unwavering support—even from afar—it truly means so much.

Huge gratitude to those who contributed to the incredible raffle: from from Queen Cluckers Homestead, and —your generosity made the day even more memorable.

And last but certainly not least, Teresa .byt —thank you for capturing this moment so beautifully. These are memories I’ll cherish forever.

This is just the beginning… and I’m so honored to care for your little ones in a way that feels intentional, connected, and truly different.

It’s Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Week, and I’m feeling extra grateful for the families who trust me with their little ones.

Parents shouldn’t have to turn to late-night Google searches when they’re worried about their child. One of the best parts of what I do is being accessible to families when they need guidance the most.

Thank you to every Trailblazer Pediatrics family who allows me to be part of your child’s story. Being a pediatric nurse practitioner truly is the best job in the world.

Healthcare that actually makes sense for families. 🧩

I love to talk about is pairing a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) with a Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership. When these two work together, families get the best of both worlds.

Your high-deductible plan is there for the big things — hospital stays, surgeries, emergencies, and other major medical events. It provides the financial protection you need for those rare but expensive situations.

Your DPC membership at Trailblazer Pediatrics covers the everyday care your child actually uses. Things like well visits, sick visits, rashes, lacerations, ear infections, developmental concerns, mental health support, and so much more. Instead of rushed appointments and insurance red tape, you have direct access to a pediatric provider who knows your child and your family.

✨ Relationship-based care
✨ Direct communication with your child’s provider
✨ Longer visits when you need them
✨ A predictable monthly membership fee
✨ Care that isn’t dictated by insurance companies

This model allows me to practice pediatrics the way it should be practiced — focused on the child, the family, and evidence-based care.

Because your child deserves a provider who truly knows them. 💜

A big moment for an even bigger mission. ✂️✨

Join us as we officially celebrate the opening of Trailblazer Pediatrics with a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony hosted by the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce.

📅 Friday, March 27
🕐 1:00–4:00 PM
✂️ Ribbon cutting at 2:00 PM

Come celebrate, tour the clinic, connect with the community, and learn about a new approach to pediatric care in New Mexico. We’ll also have giveaways and raffles during the event, so don’t miss your chance to win some fun prizes while you’re here.

Trailblazer Pediatrics is proud to be the only pediatric-specific Direct Primary Care clinic in the state, built with the goal of providing evidence-based care to New Mexico families without insurance red tape getting in the way.

By removing the insurance middleman, I’m able to practice medicine the way it should be practiced—longer visits, deeper relationships with families, and care that isn’t rushed or dictated by insurance requirements.

This clinic was created to put kids, families, and quality care first.

Bring your friends, bring your family, and come celebrate this exciting milestone with us. I can’t wait to see you there. 💛

At Trailblazer Pediatrics I never want a visit to feel scary or overwhelming. For little ones, even a simple check-up can feel like a big deal. So I keep a basket of small toys, bubbles, and fidget spinners ready — sometimes as a distraction during an exam, sometimes as a reward for bravery, and always as a reminder that they are safe here.

Those few moments of play matter.
They help ease nerves.
They build trust.
They turn tears into giggles.

When kids have something to look forward to — or something to hold onto during a tough moment — the whole experience shifts. Appointments become more manageable, more positive… and maybe even a little fun.

It’s a small extra step, but creating a space where children feel comfortable, seen, and cared for is never “extra” to me. It’s essential.

Creating a space where kids feel safe, seen, and excited to come back 💛

At Trailblazer Pediatrics, care is delivered the way it should be — unhurried, intentional, and rooted in relationship. As a direct primary care clinic, I’m able to spend real time with my patients and their families. That space allows me to build trust, partnership, and truly personalized care.

My sensory and activity walls aren’t just there to look cute (although they totally are 😉). They help kids regulate, explore, and play — and through that play, I’m able to naturally assess milestones like fine motor skills, communication, social engagement, and problem-solving in a way that feels safe and empowering.

Because trust changes everything.

When children trust their provider, exams feel less intimidating. Pokes feel more manageable. Even the hard moments feel supported.

I’m passionate about changing the narrative that going to the doctor has to feel scary. Pediatric care can feel warm, collaborative, and even fun — without compromising excellence.

Trailblazer Pediatrics is currently accepting new patients. My direct primary care membership model keeps this level of access, time, and relationship-based medicine affordable for families.

If you’ve been wanting something different for your child’s care — my doors are open. 💫
