The New Mexico Public Health Association (NMPHA), founded in 1917, is a private, non-profit membership association of individuals and organizations committed to a vision of New Mexico as a place where the resources, socioeconomic conditions, and environment exist in which ALL people can be healthy. Membership consists of approximately one-third community organizations/coalitions (including private consultants doing public health work), one-third government employees (state, county, city, federal) and one-third university/ academic-related (staff, faculty, students), representing over 30 different communities in New Mexico and neighboring states. Countless others are not actual members, but still consider themselves part of the NMPHA family and benefit from NMPHA events and activities. NMPHA is the New Mexico state affiliate of the American Public Health Association (APHA) which represents more than 30,000 members nationally and worldwide.
