A group of midwives and students got together to practice suturing skills. Midwives pride ourselves on keeping the perineum intact so it’s rare that we need to suture. But it’s always good to keep those skills fresh just in case someone needs a couple stitches.

Adorable baby boy born earlier this week. This mama did amazing, especially with a “sunny side up” presentation. So glad to meet this little guy. 🥰

Adorable baby girl born at home into her daddy’s hands on Monday evening. This mom did absolutely amazing bringing her baby earthside. Big sister was there to see the birth too. I love how homebirth involves the whole family. So many happy tears that day. ❤️

We’re happy to introduce our new student. Sarah Lengstorf was born in Rio Rancho but moved shortly thereafter and grew up on a farm in Silver City, NM. This is where she first learned about the nature of physiological birth, and where her trust in the wisdom of nature began. She has been attending births since 2020, and is currently attending Southwest Technical College of midwifery in Wisconsin through their distance learning program. She is certified in NRP, CPR and as a doula, as well as being a certified placenta encapsulation specialist. She believes that people deserve quality birthing options and individualized care, and that everyone benefits when birthing persons receive excellent reproductive healthcare. She loves baking, yoga, doing puzzles with her husband, embroidery, gardening, and exploring the wilderness. Sarah will be helping us out during the summer months.
