It was his own illness that led George Stribling to study to become a chiropractor. When he was 18, the Albuquerque native suffered from a kidney disease that was successfully treated by a naturopathic doctor. After graduating from the University of New Mexico in 1975, Dr. Stribling would eventually go on to study with the very doctor who had treated him. Dr. Stribling earned a degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1981, and later, a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician degree. He has been treating others through his chiropractic practice for over 30 years. He believed his practice differs from others in his field because of his approach to the patient. Dr. Stribling's approach examines the interrelationship between muscle balance and strength with coordinated spinal movement. He brings the two together with soft tissue manipulation. Dr. Stribling is the first chiropractor in the United States to use "Kinesio Tape" in treated back pain and pain associated with soft tissue and muscular injuries. Kinesio taping allows him to address a wide range of myofascial and soft tissue injuries, which standard manipulation will not. Chronic pain is often due to unresolved myofascial dysfunctions. Dr. Stribling distinguishes his practice with individualized patient evaluation and treatment applications specific to that patient's complaint. Physical and spinal examination with x-rays, if indicated, and kinesiology testing help determine the extent and location of muscular or nerve involvement. This determines what treatment and therapy is needed. This isn't a meat shop and Dr. Stribling never puts patients on exaggerated treatment plans. In this office, patients are individuals, not numbers. On reevaluating his own career, Dr. Stribling has no regrets. He clearly loves his job, and he clearly loves his patients. He is drawn and driven to help people feel healthier. It is extremely gratifying for him to see his patients feel an improvement in their condition!.
