Gentiva Hospice's 21st Annual Food Drive is underway!

We’re proud to celebrate 21 years of giving back to our community—and we’d love for YOU to be part of it!

This year, we’re collecting non-perishable food items to support the East Mountain Food Pantry, helping local families in need. Every donation—whether it’s a can, box, or bag—makes a real difference and brings comfort and hope to someone in our community.

Meet our incredible hospice therapy dogs — Simba, Chip, and Silas 💙💙💙

These furry friends bring comfort, joy, and unconditional love to our patients and families. Whether it's a gentle nuzzle, a wagging tail, or simply being present, they offer a kind of healing that words can't always provide.

Their visits help:

🌼 Provide emotional support during difficult times

Family and friends gathered this past weekend to honor Luis Gallegos—Marine Corps Veteran, devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and best friend.
Luis served in the infantry during the Vietnam War, a time that demanded extraordinary courage and resilience. He stood alongside his fellow Marines in battle, carrying their stories and sacrifices with him throughout his life.
Luis lived with deep pride in his country and his service, embodying the values of honor, strength, and loyalty.
The Marine Corps is built on the values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. These values are not just words—they are a way of life. You have lived these values, and today we honor you for that.
Though words can never fully express our gratitude, please know that your service has made a lasting impact. You are, and always will be, a Marine. We thank you; we salute you, and we honor you.

💙💙 Hospice is for every heart in the room. 💙💙
Monday, we kicked off Customer Appreciation Week at Gentiva Albuquerque—and what a heartwarming start it was!

🌯 We started with a drive-through breakfast for our amazing team, and handed out 102 Customer Appreciation Bags to our cherished customers. But the heart of hospice goes far beyond the gestures—it lives in the relationships we build.

Sandra Hollis, LCSW, shared this touching moment:

*“I have been Mary’s social worker for over 4 years, seeing her every Tuesday morning. Mary is a realist and has always spoken openly and calmly about her end of life. She had her funeral plans set from our first meeting.

Yesterday, as she nears the end of her journey, I held her hand and listened as she spoke about looking forward to seeing her husband again and being free from this long illness. I thanked her for the honor of being her social worker.

Mary whispered, ‘You are much more than my social worker, you are my friend.’

It made me cry.”*
