Hospice of New Mexico

Hospice of New Mexico Hospice of New Mexico provides specialized care to patients considered to be nearing end of life and We have been caring for Albuquerque residents since 2004.

Hospice of New Mexico is a locally physician owned hospice that provides specialized care to people living with terminal illness while giving support to their loved ones. Our Physicians are Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative care. Hospice of New Mexico uses an interdisciplinary team approach to providing care. We use the word “interdisciplinary” to indicate that each of us brings a different expertise, yet we all focus together on the issues that matter to you. Hospice provides comprehensive care when a cure is no longer the goal. The emphasis of hospice care is on quality of life, and on maximizing comfort as the illness takes its natural course. Hospice care is holistic, delivered by a team of professionals and trained volunteers. It is designed to address the physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and psychological issues that accompany end of life. We focus on controlling distressing symptoms and address other concerns the patient or family may have.

Today we recognize World Parkinson's Day 💙

This day brings awareness to Parkinson’s disease — a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, speech, and daily life for millions of individuals and families around the world.

At Hospice of New Mexico, we understand that Parkinson’s doesn’t just impact one person — it touches spouses, children, caregivers, and entire support systems. As the disease advances, care needs can become more complex, and families often feel overwhelmed navigating what comes next.

Hospice care can provide comfort-focused support, symptom management, emotional guidance, and dignity during advanced stages of Parkinson’s. Our team walks alongside families to ensure no one faces this journey alone.

Today, we stand in support of those living with Parkinson’s and the caregivers who show up with strength and love every single day.

If you have questions about advanced Parkinson’s care or hospice support, we’re here to help. 💙

Reminder: Our medical directors can work alongside the attending physician

At Hospice of New Mexico, our care team includes experienced and dedicated medical directors who provide clinical leadership and guidance to ensure the highest quality of care throughout the end-of-life journey. We also respect the important relationship you have with your attending physician, who has been part of your care along the way. If you choose, we will work closely with your physician to support a smooth and coordinated transition to hospice services. Our priority is to provide care that brings you and your family comfort, confidence, and peace of mind.

🌷🐣 Happy Easter from all of us at Hospice of New Mexico 🐣🌷

Easter is a season of hope, renewal, and meaningful moments with those we cherish most. While this day looks different for every family, the heart of it remains the same — love, reflection, and time together.

We are honored to walk alongside the patients and families we serve, providing comfort, dignity, and compassionate care during life’s most tender seasons.

May today bring you peace, warmth, and moments that matter.

Wishing you a blessed and beautiful Easter. 💛

Wishing a meaningful and peaceful Passover to all who celebrate.

As families gather to reflect on freedom, faith, and renewal, we are reminded of the importance of honoring traditions and cherishing time together. We feel privileged to support patients and families of all backgrounds with compassion, dignity, and respect for the beliefs and customs that matter most to them.

May this season bring comfort, hope, and moments of connection around your table and beyond.

This April and all year long, we celebrate Occupational Therapy practitioners and the power of occupational therapy.

Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants focus on the things you want and need to do in your daily life. Occupational therapy intervention uses everyday life activities (occupations) to promote health, well-being, and your ability to participate in the important activities in your life.

This keeps you able to enjoy quality of life, for as long as possible. A core purpose in hospice care as well. Many thanks to all OTs!

As we wrap up Women’s History Month, we celebrate not only history makers but difference makers.

This week, we honor Tannille, whose kindness, dedication, and support bring comfort and dignity to patients and families each day. The future of compassionate care is brighter because of women like her.

Thank you for the impact you make far beyond what is seen.

Today we celebrate National Doctors Day and the physicians who dedicate their lives to caring for others.

Observed on March 30th, this day honors the first successful use of anesthesia in surgery by Crawford W. Long in 1842, a breakthrough that transformed modern medicine.

In hospice care, our physicians provide guidance, compassion, and expertise that help patients and families feel supported every step of the way.

Thank you to the doctors who lead with both skill and heart.
