Good visit with Kathy when I arrived she was cutting up cabbage to make cabbage and noodles, she couldn’t finish cutting it up, so I cut it up for her and I finished making the cabbage and noodles for her and we sat and talked. I cleaned up her kitchen and took out her trash.

Real care updates from Nest In Place caregivers...

Good morning with Mike. Got him up, took his 7 AM pills. Went into the bathroom, where he used the toilet, then got into the shower. He washed himself and brushed his teeth. I helped him dry off and get dressed. Went out to the kitchen for breakfast, took his other pills, he had a scrambled egg, bacon, toast, and orange, and coffee with MiraLAX. When he was done, got him into his motor chair to get ready to head out. I emptied and cleaned out the catheter bag, wiped down the bathroom, made the bed, and did dishes. Helped him out to the car and left at the same time for him and Joan to go to her doctors appointment. Wished them a good day.

(when something's not right)

It was a little bit of a rocky morning with Mary just because she was moderately confused. Attempted to assist her into the shower. She was very adamant, refusing the shower, stating she was going to Florida today for some months, and to not run the water because she has to pay for it. She didn’t want breakfast either. She was assured that her daughter knew where she was and her daughter was notified. Her urine was dark, but she was saying she feels okay.

Good visit with Bob today. We chatted and watched TV for my entire visit. Bob seemed to be a bit depressed today. He told me stories about him and his wife and became a little emotional talking about her. When my time was up, we said our goodbyes, and I headed out. Bob gave me a hug on my way out and thanked me for listening.😊

(Assisted Living support- holiday edition)

Nice morning with Cathy. She was awake when I arrived. The aide and myself got her up and out of bed. We got her in the shower chair for her Sunday shower. I washed her body while the aide made her bed. We both dried Cathy off and lotioned her up. She is dressed. Teeth brushed. Hair brushed. She is down at breakfast. She is excited to see her family today. Happy Easter 🐰

(Easter prep)

Great day with Mary as always! She had hardboiled some eggs and had them waiting in the ice bath for me to peel for her so I washed my hands and set right to it. After they were peeled and rinsed we made red beet eggs and saved the rest to make Deviled eggs tomorrow. Cleaned up kitchen, took trash out, finished vacuuming, and dusted the bedroom for her. Have a great Easter everyone!

Another great visit we folded laundry and put it away!! We made hot dogs with sauerkraut and mustard for dinner with air fried potatoes!! We then did PT exercises and changed for bed before saying goodbye ♥️

Real care updates from Nest In Place caregivers...
(hospice support)

It was nice meeting Tom’s family today. I assisted Tom with changing from his nighttime clothes into his daytime clothes, provided a bed bath, helped him brush his teeth, and applied lotion. The hospice nurse later came and changed his catheter bag. I spent time talking with Tom, and when family members arrived, I gave them space to be with him while continuing to monitor him, assisting him as needed whenever he called my name.

(Quick Care - ONE hour shift)

Good visit with Donna today. We went through some of her clothes. Then I went through her usual routine. I helped her in the shower, applied her lotion, and helped her get dressed. I also made her bed. Then I got her mail and took the trash out. I unloaded the dishwasher. Then I heated up her dinner. We chatted for the rest of my visit then said our goodbyes.😊

Real care updates from Nest In Place caregivers...

Nice afternoon visiting with Ann. When I arrived she was sitting and doing a puzzle, still in her nightgown. She got dressed while I cleaned up kitchen and heated up her lunch. She ate the stuffed mushroom, some pasta, and spinach that her daughter made. I took out trash and recyclables and cleaned up sink. Loaded dishwasher and refreshed her water. Made her list for store and went to Aldi for a few things. She was looking for ice cream cones but apparently they only have them in the summer. She was disappointed to say the least. We brought home groceries and put them away. She’s washing her grapes now. Phones and iPad are charged. Updated her schedule for next week. Told Ann I will see her soon. 😊
