Happy New Year, everyone! 💫
Dr. Torrelli brings us more information on probiotics from his car while his wife is shopping (what a guy!). While you listen up, here are some tips to consider when selecting a probiotic:

✅ Look for strain diversity:
Different strains of probiotics do different things—more diversity usually means broader benefits for your gut health. Aim for products with many unique strains rather than just one or two.

✅ Choose clinically supported strains:
High-quality probiotics list specific strains with research behind them (e.g., Lactobacillus rhamnosus or Bifidobacterium bifidum). If the label only says “probiotic blend” without specifics, that’s a red flag.

✅ Check CFUs (potency):
CFU stands for colony-forming units—this number tells you how many live bacteria you’re getting per dose. A higher count isn’t always better, but a product with too low of a CFU likely won’t do much.

✅ Avoid cheap, generic formulas:
Products that use generic strains or don’t list substrain details may not deliver real benefits. Good brands include trademarked or well-studied strains that survive digestion.

✅ Skip low-quality packaging:
Probiotics are live organisms—exposure to moisture and oxygen can kill them before you ever take them. Avoid flimsy plastic bottles and look for packaging that protects against light and humidity.

✅ Consider prebiotics, too (see last video):
Some formulas include prebiotics (fiber that feeds good bacteria) to help probiotics thrive once they reach your gut. This combo can be more effective than probiotics alone.

💡 Tip:
Dr. Torrelli partners with Fullscript to make it easy for his patients to order high-quality products. Some of his favorite brands are on there, and some are not. Dr. Frank will list the more reputable and trustworthy probiotics in the next video.

In this video, Dr. Torrelli introduces us to three types off biotics your body uses, and how each one plays a unique role:

1️⃣ Probiotics
Probiotics are the actual living bacteria that support gut health. They help restore balance when your system is stressed by poor diet, antibiotic use, chronic inflammation, or illness. Quality probiotics introduce friendly bacteria that help crowd out harmful microbes, improve digestion, and support overall immune function.

2️⃣ Prebiotics
Prebiotics are special types of fiber that feed the good bacteria already living in your gut. Think of them as the nourishment your microbiome needs to grow, multiply, and do its job well. When your good bacteria are well-fed, they help support digestion, nutrient absorption, regularity, and a balanced immune system.

3️⃣ Postbiotics
Postbiotics are the beneficial compounds that probiotics naturally create after they “eat” prebiotics. These compounds include short-chain fatty acids, enzymes, peptides, and other anti-inflammatory substances that support gut lining health, metabolic balance, and immune strength. Postbiotics are essentially the powerful end products that help your body function smoothly.

When all three work together, your gut becomes stronger, more resilient, and better equipped to support your overall health. 🦚

Did you know that Dr. Torrelli has offered the IonCleanse detox foot bath since 2001? 👣

What is it?
The IonCleanse foot detox is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that supports your natural detox pathways. Many people find it relaxing and use it regularly to help reduce the body’s overall toxic load.

How long does it take?
The session takes 20 minutes. Some people feel a slight tingling on the bottom of their feet from the gentle ionic charge. The water may change color as impurities are released through the pores of the feet.

What are the benefits?
Clients often report:
⚡ Improved energy
🧠 Clearer thinking
😴 Better sleep
🔥 Reduced inflammation

Tips for the best results:
💧 Arrive well-hydrated and avoid caffeine beforehand
🚰 Drink water afterward to help flush toxins
🥗 Prioritize movement, whole foods, and rest

What does the research say?
A recent study found that people using the IonCleanse for 30 days experienced a 48% drop in glyphosate (the chemical in Roundup), compared to only 14% in those who did not detox. Where does the Roundup come from? Your food! 🍎

Think of your body like a sponge 🧽 - it absorbs so much from the environment, and healthy habits like detoxing help keep that “sponge” clean.

📅 Reach out to schedule your session or book a consultation to discuss a safe and practical detox program tailored to your needs!

Holy Cannoli! 🍝
Dr. Torrelli shares his hot take on plant-based digestive enzymes and experience with supplementation.

Did you know your body relies on enzymes to break down fats, proteins, and carbohydrates so you can actually absorb the nutrients from your food? It’s common to experience bloating from food sensitivities, high sugar intake, or hard-to-digest ingredients.

That’s where plant-based digestive enzymes come in.

They help your body:
✅ Break down macronutrients more efficiently
✅ Reduce post-meal bloating (yes, even after Nonna’s third helping!)
✅ Support a healthier, happier gut
✅ Improve nutrient absorption so you get more out of what you eat

Your stomach will thank you, and so will your energy levels.

If you spend hours typing, scrolling, or clicking a mouse, you’re putting your wrists, hands, and forearms under constant stress. Repetitive motion and awkward wrist angles can compress the median nerve, leading to that all-too-familiar tingling, numbness, or pain in your hands and wrists. 📲

Women are three times more likely to develop Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) - and the rise in screen time is making symptoms appear earlier and more often. (Source: Johns Hopkins Medicine)

✨ Small changes go a long way:
👉 Keep wrists neutral (not bent) when typing
👉 Take stretch breaks every 30–45 minutes
👉 Loosen your grip on your phone or mouse
👉 Use a supportive keyboard and mouse pad

Protect your precious wrists and overall hand function - Laser therapy can help. 🫶🏼
