Please welcome Dr. Lakyn Boone to our clinic. She completed her internship at the VA Medical Center in Pineville, LA and received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Louisiana Tech. She will be seeing children, adolescents, and adults for evaluation and therapy under the supervision of Dr. Stokes. We are so excited for her to join CLMPC!

🌟 We are proud to partner with the Masonic Learning Center. They have an incredible dyslexia training program, which provides interventions for children with a specific learning disability (SLD) in reading (formerly known as dyslexia).

🌟 CLMPC offers comprehensive evaluations that assess intellectual function (IQ) and academic achievement to determine if a child has a specific learning disability (SLD).

🌟 Whether a child meets criteria for an SLD in reading or not, Dr. Stokes and her team will assess for ADHD (common reason forr learning concerns) as well as offer referral resources and recommendations for further evaluation of other common causes of learning problems including Sensory Processing Disorder, Speech/Language Disorder, and/or Auditory Processing Disorder.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Stokes on receiving an alumni award at Western Carolina University! She was recognized for academic excellence while at WCU and in her profession. She was also invited to speak to current graduate students and faculty on medical psychology. Did you know Louisiana is one of the only states to recognize medical psychologists?
