We face so many challenges in life and at times navigating through those challenges can feel like all things are against us. We feel defeated and nothing feels good, we feel alone, helpless and hopeless. We don’t know how to manage it sometimes or we may know what we need to do but feel stuck and can’t seem to actually do it. In those challenging, difficult and life changing moments, I believe one of the bravest things you can do is seek help. I believe therapy can do just that, give you the help and support you need. As a therapist, I can assist you in learning about your triggers, vulnerabilities, feelings, thoughts and behaviors. I will work with you to explore your past and present and how past experiences are holding you back and impacting your current behaviors and relationships. I can work with you to have a better understanding and relationship with your feelings, minimize suffering and learn how to response to life’s challenges. I know reaching out to a therapist could feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to. I provide a space for individuals to feel safe, supported and empowered. We will work together whether exploring the past, present, or future; creating new solutions for dealing with emotional pain; developing effective skills and strategies; processing stressful events; healing from unresolved feelings and unmet emotional needs; and together we will sort through the different pieces contributing to your hurt, pain and suffering. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I work with adolescents and adults, specializing in depression, anxiety, relationship distress, life transitions, grief, trauma and loss. I have experience working in residential facility, inpatient and outpatient settings, providing individual, group and family therapy. I use an integrated approach to therapy through a variety of modalities, including: Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, person-centered, Trauma focused, solution focused and Internal Family system. It is never too late or the wrong time to reach out for therapy. Validation does not mean we agree or you are right. Instead, validation means understanding, acknowledging and accepting of the other persons thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We can validate someone’s feelings, thoughts and behaviors without agreeing with them. Self-validation is an awareness, recognition and understanding of owns feelings, thoughts and behaviors. We don’t have to agree to validate or self-validate.
