🌿 Stress is a natural part of life, but chronic stress can take a toll on your health. TCM offers time-tested tools to ease tension, calm the mind, and support long-term well-being.
🌳Support Liver Qi Flow
The Liver is responsible for ensuring smooth energy flow in the body. When Qi stagnates, we feel irritable, anxious, or tense.
Try: Gentle stretching, yoga, or qigong.
Food: Leafy greens, peppermint tea, citrus peel teas.
❣️Nourish the Heart and Calm the Shen
The Shen (spirit) resides in the Heart. When unsettled, it leads to insomnia, restlessness, or racing thoughts.
Try: Meditation or breathing exercises.
Food: Walnuts, lotus seeds, chamomile tea.
⛰️Strengthen the Spleen to Reduce Worry
Excess worry and overthinking weaken the Spleen energy, leading to fatigue and digestive upset.
Try: Mindful eating and avoiding multitasking during meals.
Food: Warm, cooked foods like soups and stews; sweet potatoes, millet, ginger.
☯️Balance Yin and Yang for Resilience
Chronic stress can deplete Kidney Yin (fluids, nourishment) and/or Kidney Yang (warmth, vitality).
Signs of Yin deficiency: Night sweats, irritability, dryness.
Signs of Yang deficiency: Fatigue, cold hands/feet, lack of motivation.
Try: Restorative practices like tai chi, warm baths, proper sleep.
Food: Black sesame, walnuts, bone broth for Kidney support.
🌱Chinese medicine views stress not as a single issue, but as a reflection of imbalance in the entire body. By making a few simple adjustments you can help restore harmony and build resilience.
