In honor of Juneteenth, The Growth and Healing HUB will be closed on Monday, June 19th.

This day commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and is a time for reflection, education, and celebration of Black freedom and resilience.

We encourage our community to take this time to reflect, rest, and honor the significance of this important day.

We will resume normal operations on Tuesday, June 20th.

Community Event: Viva! Vienna!

The Vienna Rotary Club, a contributor to The HUB, will once again host their annual fundraiser, Viva! Vienna!, over Memorial Day Weekend.

This long-standing community event features vendors, food, entertainment, and activities for all ages. Proceeds benefit local organizations and initiatives supported by the Rotary Club.

Refill Your Cup: A Mental Wellness Workshop
Are you a Black woman constantly navigating leadership, community responsibilities, and everyday life — often pouring into others while leaving little for yourself?

This Mental Health Awareness Month, Alpha Beta Alpha Omega invites you to Refill Your Cup — a restorative and empowering workshop created specifically for Black women in leadership. Led by Felicia Meyer De Loatch, licensed mental health professional and President/CEO of The Growth and Healing HUB, this experience is designed to help you slow down, reflect, and prioritize you.

Whether you lead in your profession, family, or community, this space acknowledges the unique pressures you face and offers real, usable tools to combat burnout and reclaim balance.

In this interactive session, you’ll:

- Recognize the signs and impact of burnout in the lives of Black women leaders.
- Explore realistic self-care practices that fit into your already full life.
- Learn proven techniques to manage stress and build emotional resilience.
- Discover supportive resources to sustain your mental wellness.
- Connect with a sisterhood of women who understand and uplift each other.

We extend our warmest thanks to our HUB Board Member, Kee Jun, and our dedicated donor board supporter, LTC (Ret) Dee Dodson Morris, Esq., for a wonderful evening at Matchbox. We are also immensely grateful to Mr. Warren Thompson, restaurant owner and valued supporter, for graciously providing dinner. The Growth and Healing Hub was honored to attend “The Monte Carlo: A Jeweled Jazz Affair,” hosted by the Arlington (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Our President and Vice President were proud to represent our organization at this elegant and impactful event. It was an evening filled with purpose, community, and celebration — all in support of programs that make a real difference in the lives of those in Arlington and Alexandria. We are truly inspired by The Links’ dedication to service and community uplift, and we look forward to future collaborations that continue driving positive change.
