Aroma Home Healthcare is looking to hire reliable LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurse) to care for private duty/home care clients in the McLean, VA area. The LPN will care for the client in their home, will assist the client with all levels of his or her ADLs and IADLs and will administer medications (as needed). The LPN will work under the supervision of a registered nurse. LPN professionals must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. It is a demanding job but also very rewarding.

Responsibilities

Record a patient’s medical history accurately
Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions
Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
Monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts
Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
Skills required to work

Proven experience as LPN or similar role
Successful completion of LPN license program is a must
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
Familiarity with general safety and sanitation standards and procedures
Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
Perfect physical condition and stamina
Compassionate and able to handle stress

A Personal Care Aide is a person who provides oversight and/or supervision, nutritional support, assistance with personal hygiene and the environmental maintenance necessary for an individual to remain in his/her own home and the community. The Personal Care Aide is under direct supervision of the Licensed Professional Nurse and/or Registered Nurse. The PCA provides services in accordance with Level I and Level II Personal Care Aide Functions and Tasks Scope of Practice. Care includes services that fall under the guidelines for Homemaker and Housekeeper.

1 year of experience is needed, we provide all the training that you need, for FREE once a case is found for you.

We provide all necessary training to start an exciting career as a Virginia CERTIFIED PCA. (So you have nothing holding you back!) For more information of Cost of a PCA Certificate please ask!

Previously certified PCA, HHA, CNA certificate holders encouraged to apply. Certificate holders will not have to retake the 40-hour class if you provide us with your certificate.

At least 18 years of age.

Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
