I love caring for patients of all ages, from newborns to centenarians and everyone in-between! I spend extra time with my patients to understand their concerns, answer their questions, and set goals for their health and wellness, with a primary emphasis on prevention and lifestyle modification before medications. I offer 2 membership options for my direct primary care (DPC) practice: MODERN Mobile Medicine for house calls, and PURE Primary Care here at Vital for office-based care.
I offer same day or next-day appointments for pressing issues, plus the convenience of email, secure messaging, video chats, and phone appointments. In addition, all appointments are booked online, so you will never be on hold trying to make an appointment—we do not even need to be open for you to schedule a visit!
My model is like your mobile phone plan, except no long-term contracts! You pay your monthly fee and use the service as needed.

Dr. Cardinal went on to complete a 3-year medical and surgical residency with the VA Maryland Healthcare System with a focus in wound care, general podiatry and surgery. Dr. Cardinal is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics.
In his free time, Dr. Cardinal enjoys playing tennis, running, spending time with family and friends and playing the guitar.

Margaret has been trained and experienced in delivering both massage and physical therapy. She studied at the Medical Massage Institute in Krakow, Poland and at the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at NOVA.

Peter Liebenthal learned about acupuncture as a child through his grandmother, Pao-Cheng Niu de Liebenthal, one of the first prominent acupuncturists in Argentina. Visiting as a child, Peter was deeply affected by the power of his grandmother’s work.

When Peter was 19, a serious car accident left him bed-ridden for two months. He decided to dedicate his life to health and began to practice Qigong. Qigong has become a daily practice for self-healing that he still continues today. His knowledge of qi (the energy that all matter is made of) combined with a calling to help people, led him to get a Master’s of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University, a four year program in Santa Cruz, CA. He studied all five branches of Chinese Medicine: acupuncture, Chinese herbs, qigong, therapeutic massage. Since graduating, Peter has continued to train extensively. He apprenticed with master acupuncturists, Chinese herbalists and Qigong masters in China, Taiwan, California and Boston.

Peter is passionate about Chinese Medicine, a lifelong path of learning, cultivation and practice. He is dedicated to his patients’ healing process and creates individualized health plans which may combine acupuncture, herbal prescriptions & qigong exercises, as well as dietary and lifestyle advice. In 1998, Melissa became ill with chronic endometriosis and was told by medical doctors that she most likely would never bear children. A Naturopath shared with her the benefits of cleansing and detoxification of the body to combat disease. Melissa was guided to an all raw-living foods program which focused on colon cleansing, that being the center of disease. After three months of rigorous colon cleansing through raw food, enemas and colonics, her body healed and became balanced. She became pregnant with her daughter four months later, and a year after that delivery, she became pregnant with her son. Melissa is happy to report that she is the mother of two beautiful children!
