Why NCCAOM® Certification Matters?

When needles are involved, training matters. Recent reports of a serious complication following a dry needling session highlight the importance of proper education and credentialing.

NCCAOM® Board-Certified Acupuncturists complete extensive, acupuncture-specific education and supervised clinical training—far beyond short certification courses. NCCAOM programs are independently accredited and held to rigorous, evidence-based standards designed to protect patient safety.

Bottom line: Dry needling and acupuncture are safest when performed by NCCAOM Board-Certified professionals trained in anatomy, clean needle technique, risk recognition, and emergency management.

What you can do:
✅ Verify credentials in the NCCAOM Practitioner Registry
✅ Choose a NCCAOM National Board-Certified Acupuncturist™
