Breastfeeding Lady, LLC

Breastfeeding Lady, LLC All you need to breastfeed is a baby and breasts. Sometimes though, life throws you a curve ball...
That’s when you call the Breastfeeding Lady.

Angela Love-Zaranka, board-certified lactation consultant, is the Breastfeeding Lady. She has worked with nursing mothers and their children for over 20 years. Angela prefers to keep it simple when dealing with breastfeeding challenges; however, she is aware of the benefits of some of the so-called modern devices that some women choose to use to help them through a difficult time. To that end, she

can help you make proper use of interventions to support breastfeeding. The Breastfeeding Lady does not judge a mother’s decisions, but rather educates and assists mothers in meeting their goals with good information and practical strategies for solving problems.

Join the Nationwide Call-In Day for the PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act!

To call, text PUMP to 747464 (provided by MomsRising.org) to be connected with your congresswoman or congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Call Script:
Hello, my name is [________]. I live in [city, state, zip code] and am a constituent of Representative [name]. I'm calling to urge [him/her/them] to vote yes in support of House Bill 3110, the PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act. This bill will cover 9 million women of childbearing age who don't currently have protections that would give them time and a private space to pump breast milk at work. This is wrong and must be fixed. Passage of the PUMP Act would make a world of difference for families and I hope you'll vote yes when it comes to the floor this week.

Article from a peer-reviewed journal analyzing breast milk substitute (infant formula) websites. https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/927802?eType=EmailBlastContent&eId=ac710767-683c-4ed4-95e5-d1ace9467b3f Bottom line? "Substantial messaging on BMS manufacturer websites encouraged infant formula (IF) feeding and discouraged breast-feeding." If you want information on breastfeeding, don't go there!

An analysis of websites for baby formula manufacturers finds that their messages and images discourage breastfeeding while touting the benefits of formula, despite public health efforts to support breastfeeding and informed choice.

Listening to Chee Yoke Ling from Malaysia: Breastfeeding is consciously eroded (from the) bombardment of propaganda and force of power from (infant feeding) industry. Direct Marketing is insidious across all platforms. There is no real choice.

All lactation consultants who work in the community and choose to be vaccinated should reach out to their local health departments. This applies to doulas and community health workers who are not affiliated with an organization providing the vaccine (such as a hospital or government agency). Check out this post for more information on how to advocate for yourself! https://www.lactationtraining.com/our-blog/entry/lc-covid-vaccine

This blog post covers the pressing topic of vaccination of front line Lactation Consultants. When do Private Practice Lactation Consultants get to have the vaccine?

The trauma being caused by separation of a newborn and their parent is deplorable. Saying "just to be safe". We are impacting people's lives FOREVER! This cannot be fixed with an apology after the fact. Humans NEED each other. There is no substitute.

The WHO recommends women should be encouraged to breastfeed straight after birth, for both the mothers's and baby’s health, including increasing baby’s immunity.
