👣🍂 Tuesday Tip: Protect Your Feet This Fall!🍂👣

Cooler weather and seasonal footwear can take a toll—especially if you're living with diabetes. Your feet need a little extra attention this time of year. Here are three simple steps that can make a big difference:

1️⃣ Check Your Feet After Wearing Boots
New fall boots and heavier shoes can create blisters, hot spots, or pressure areas you may not feel right away. A quick look can help prevent bigger problems later.
2️⃣ Know the Warning Signs of Diabetic Neuropathy
Tingling, burning, numbness, or sharp pains in the feet can be early signs of nerve damage. Don’t ignore them—early treatment is key to preventing complications.
3️⃣ Don’t Skip Your Daily Foot Checks
Cooler weather leads to drier skin, which can crack and turn into infections if unnoticed. Moisturize daily and inspect the bottoms of your feet—even if they “feel fine.”

🌟 Diabetes can also cause serious diabetic wounds—don’t wait for minor issues to worsen.

If you're experiencing foot changes, discomfort, slow-healing sores, or concerns about diabetic neuropathy, DIABETES RELIEF OF LOUISIANA and our wound care specialists at LOUISIANA CARDIOVASCULAR & ADVANCED WOUND CARE CLINIC are here to help!

🩸🧠❗DIABETES & STROKE: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ❗🧠🩸

Did you know people with diabetes are twice as likely to have a stroke?

According to the American Stroke Association, every two minutes, an American adult with diabetes is hospitalized for a stroke.

High blood sugar over time can damage blood vessels, create dangerous clots, and raise your risk of heart disease and stroke. But here’s the good news — you can take control.

Don’t wait for a warning sign — take action today!

📞 Call Diabetes Relief of Louisiana at 318-442-0106 to learn how we can help you lower your risk of stroke and “get your life back.”

🎖️ VETERANS DAY SPOTLIGHT: COLONEL HERMAN CURRY 💙

This 76-year-old U.S. Air Force Veteran runs 10 miles every day — and he has Type 2 diabetes.

A lifelong leader, he trained in Israel with elite counterterrorism forces, built Detroit’s first SWAT team, and now shapes young leaders as a JROTC instructor in Natchez, Mississippi.

When diabetic neuropathy tried to slow him down, he began PIR therapy (which mimics a healthy pancreas) at Diabetes Relief of Louisiana — and never stopped running.

Dr. Gary Jones, also a proud U.S. Veteran, says it best:

“Colonel Curry’s life story is remarkable. He’s the kind of person who inspires everyone around him, His story shows what’s possible when discipline meets determination. We’re proud to be a part of his journey.”

To ALL United States Veterans – Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. You are honored, valued, and appreciated by Dr. Gary Jones and the staff of LACVT and Diabetes Relief of Louisiana!

🏅 See Colonel Curry’s full story in the March 2026 issue of U.S. Veterans Magazine.
