Friends and supporters!

We are transitioning from Classy (GoFundMe Nonprofit) to Give Butter as our donation platform.

At the St. Luke Foundation, our guiding principle has always been simple: every dollar should reach the people of Haiti. That means we constantly evaluate our operating costs — including the platforms we use to process your generous gifts.

Why we're making the switch:
Classy charged us a platform fee on top of standard payment processing costs, which meant a small portion of every donation never made it to Haiti. Give Butter's nonprofit pricing model significantly reduces those fees, allowing more of what you give to go directly to the communities we serve. Over time, these savings add up to real, tangible impact on the ground.

A note about Give Butter's "tip jar":
Give Butter uses an optional donor tip feature to help cover their operating costs — this is how they're able to offer such favorable rates to nonprofits. You may see a prompt at checkout asking if you'd like to leave a tip for the platform. This tip is entirely optional and goes to Give Butter, not to the St. Luke Foundation. You are absolutely welcome to set it to $0 — doing so has no impact on your donation or our gratitude for your support.

If you have any questions about the transition, please visit Givebutter.com/Stlukehaiti.

At 72 years old, I have in fact gotten good at a lot of things, especially concerning priesthood and medicine.

But what good is it to recognize cancer if you can’t do anything about it? For example, Fara, who was 22 years, old just died today in our hospital. She was an albino and therefore highly susceptible to melanoma. She was ravaged by this cancer, in a country where the poor have no access to basic health care, never mind cancer care.

The most powerful investment we can make is in our children.

When we offer education to youth, we plant the seeds of a brighter, more resilient tomorrow, for Haiti, and for humanity.
For over three years, Haiti has endured a relentless crisis. According to an October 8th report by UNICEF , 680,000 children are displaced.
Thousands of schools have shuttered under the weight of gang violence. The economy continues to deteriorate, and countless families are unable to afford school fees for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Yet even in the darkest hour, hope persists. The St Luke Foundation stands firm in its belief that every Haitian child deserves the dignity of learning.
This month we distributed 250 school kits to students ages 6 to 14 at Toto Camp in Delmas. Each kit is more than a backpack: it is a lifeline, a promise, and a step toward rebuilding futures.

Steevenson Saint-Fort, a parent of one of the students, expressed his gratitude by saying, thank you St Luke Foundation for this supportt!"

In this moment of hardship, we renew our unwavering commitment:
To walk beside the most vulnerable.
To uplift through education.
To never give up on Haiti’s children.

Thank you for helping make this possible.
