Excerpt from the Dry Needling "part 1" book taught in our upcoming course in Cairo by the American Academy of Doctors of Physical Therapy.

***Dry Needling to the Rhomboids***

*Patient position: Prone hammerlock or ¾ sidelying on involved side
* Needling technique: Secure the TrP over a rib between index and middle finger (which are placed over the intercostal space above and below)
-Insert the needle perpendicular to the skin then angle it tangentially towards the rib.
*Precautions: Avoid penetrating the lung field, Dont go further than 10 mm, keep fingers on intercostal space and ensure you are needling into a rib.
*Indications: Shoulder pathology, pain in the interscapular region, Mid-back pain, scapular pain/pathology.
