This week, we gathered for a special evening to introduce our newest service offering and begin building the team around it.

Over dinner, conversation, and an information session, we spent time discussing the realities of aging and the growing need for meaningful connection during this season of life. While many individuals remain independent and active, isolation can quietly become one of the biggest challenges as the years go on.

Our new Concierge service is designed to meet this need. It focuses on thoughtful relationship-based care, intellectual engagement, shared activities, and consistent presence for individuals who value conversation, curiosity, and connection in their daily lives.

The evening was an opportunity to share the vision behind this service, explore what intentional, relationship-based support can look like, and begin forming a team of people who genuinely love spending time with others and building relationships that feel natural and meaningful.

We are excited to see this service grow and grateful for the incredible people who are helping bring it to life!

Please keep a lookout for Ms. Richards. Praying for her safe return!

This Veterans Day, we honor the men and women who have bravely served our country, those who stood for freedom, faith, and courage in the face of adversity.

At ACCfamily, Veterans Day holds special meaning. Our founder, Captain Eugene “Red” McDaniel, U.S. Navy (Ret.), spent nearly six years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam before returning home to dedicate his life to serving others. His strength, compassion, and unwavering faith became the foundation of who we are today.

Red’s story reminds us that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off, it continues in how we care for one another, our families, and our communities.

This past weekend, we hosted a special Caregiver Celebration Dinner, an evening honoring the incredible caregivers who make our mission possible through their compassion, excellence, and dedication.

Our leadership team from across the U.S. gathered to celebrate our Caregivers of the Month (July 2024–June 2025), each representing the very best of what it means to love and serve.

This year, we were especially proud to introduce the Lucy Boamah Caregiver of the Year Award, named in honor of longtime ACCfamily caregiver Lucy Boamah, whose legacy of love and service continues to inspire us all. We’re thrilled to announce Ms. Victoria Adjei as our first-ever recipient of this award! With 18 years of remarkable service and countless lives touched, Victoria embodies the compassion and excellence at the core of our values.

From those with decades of experience to those just beginning their journey, our caregivers inspire us every day. Thank you for your compassion, commitment, and heart — you are the foundation of ACCfamily.

We recently had the absolute joy of celebrating our longtime client, Mrs. Maust, on her 102nd birthday! For over 20 years, it has been our honor to walk alongside her and her family, building a relationship rooted in love and care.

Jim and Casey joined her loved ones and caregivers to mark this incredible milestone, bringing lunch for everyone as a small thank-you for her loyalty to our company and the trust she has placed in us over the years.

What a blessing to celebrate such a full, well-lived life! Here’s to Mrs. Maust – 102 years young, surrounded by family, friendship, and community

58 years ago today, Captain Eugene “Red” McDaniel was shot down over Vietnam.

He survived six brutal years as a POW and returned home with unwavering courage and conviction. Today, we honor his incredible journey—from combat pilot to national hero, advocate, and our beloved Chairman Emeritus.

His life is a testament to resilience, patriotism, and faith. We are proud to share his story.

It’s a bittersweet time at the office as we say "Happy 2nd Retirement" to Gertrude, one of our best caregivers! Gertrude has been an integral part of our City Contract care team for many years, working with multiple clients across the area. After serving as a civil servant and working with the Federal Government for many years, Gertrude retired—but her love for helping seniors brought her back to caregiving on a part-time basis. Each client she worked with would tell you she became like family to them. To honor her, we had her stop by the office to receive a few small gifts and a card from the entire team, thanking her for being so amazing. We wish you all the best, Gertrude—your kindness and dedication will never be forgotten!

Our caregiver, Tiruwork (Terry), stopped by the office yesterday to pick up a heartfelt letter from a family she recently supported through hospice care. Inside was a Christmas card, a bonus, and a touching note thanking her for the incredible care she provided in their loved one's final months. They even called her part of the 'Dream Team' of caregivers who offered 24/7 support. We are so grateful for dedicated caregivers on our team like Terry who make a lasting impact! 🌟

As we wrap up Fall Safety Week, let’s focus on fostering connections with our aging loved ones this season. It’s essential to make them feel included and valued as part of the family, especially as the holidays approach.

Here are some heartfelt ways to keep your loved ones connected this fall:

1. Invite them to participate in family activities, like cooking fall recipes together or sharing stories around the table. These moments create lasting memories and a sense of belonging.

2. Plan family game nights or movie marathons where everyone can join in, making sure your loved ones feel engaged and entertained.

3. Use the upcoming holidays to create special traditions that include them, ensuring they feel embraced and appreciated in the family.

By intentionally involving your loved ones in family life, you can help them feel cherished and connected this fall!
