Shared by Dr. Jason Bloom () - A busy and fun few days in beautiful Los Angeles at the annual meeting last month month! It was great to catch up with friends and colleagues from all over the world while having a chance to speak about facial plastic surgery topics, learn from experts, and network with my aesthetic industry partners. It was truly one of the best meetings yet on multiple different levels!

Shared by Meryam Shikara, MD () - What… like it’s hard? Very. But it’s worth it. Life is hard either way. Here’s some things I wish I could tell myself 15 years ago:

1. Ask for feedback and advice frequently but you don’t need to listen to all of it. People reflect their own biases when they give advice. Nod, smile and say thank you. Most are well meaning but they don’t have your same journey, goals, and attributes. Don’t be discouraged.
2. Don’t mistaken hard work and perseverance for luck! Most people would agree I’ve had many “unlucky” things happen to me - a story for another day. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But resilience >>>> luck!
3. Rejection or failure are more powerful for your growth than unopposed success. Learning to be comfortable with uncertainty will push you further out your comfort zone than you could imagine. That’s where the real growth happens.
4. This one is hard: Don’t compare yourself. Medicine selects for high achieving competitive personalities. Comparison really is the thief of joy. Everyone has their own speed and trajectory. No one’s path is linear and you may be seeing one snapshot. Put your head down and focus on what you CAN control. Complain less. Enjoy more. Cherish time with people you love.

Which one do you agree with most?

Shared by Dr. Linda Lee ()👩‍⚕️ Such a great conference in LA!! Focusing on rhinoplasty and aging face nuanced techniques, advances in facial reconstruction, injectables, and non-surgical treatments. 💉🧠 👃

I am extremely honored to be on the board of directors again this year - it feels like such a pinch-me moment to be working for the leadership of this incredible academy. It’s inspiring to work alongside colleagues with enormous talent, passion, and drive to keep our academy moving forward in ways we always dreamed of. The future is so bright. ✨

Reconnecting with great friends and inspiring colleagues has been rejuvenating for my mind and soul. Already looking forward to next year’s meeting in Vegas 💕🙌

Shared by Jamil Asaria, MD () - What an incredible AAFPRS meeting in Los Angeles! I lectured on the importance of fat grafting with facelift and eyelid surgery, reliable approaches to minimal incision brow lifting, the importance of balance in rhinoplasty, and ran an afternoon section on practice management.

I was especially proud of   for his poise and confidence in moderating a panel on social media.

It was amazing to connect with so many of my past fellows, colleagues, mentors, and close friends in a beautiful city.

Thank you to the whole committee for organizing such an amazing conference!
