The Physician & Midwife Collaborative Practice was born out of the notion that as medicine and technology advances, “care” should still be the foundation of providing medical care to women. We focus on providing compassion, education and support in tandem with the best medical course of action for the individual. By bringing together board-certified OB/GYNs and midwives, we are able to provide our patients with high-touch care in combination with the latest medical technology. This may translate to planning for a natural childbirth with a first-time mother or creating a comprehensive treatment plan, including exercise for a woman who is struggling with menopause. We also do our best to keep this level of care accessible, by offering multiple providers, four office locations, extensive office hours, and 24/7 on-site staff at Inova Alexandria Hospital. In order to respond efficiently and accurately to your needs, we also maintain electronic medical records and offer centralized support staff who can access your lab results and quickly set appointments. Did you know that 55% of US women between 30-35 are already experiencing moderate to severe menopause symptoms (according to a recent UVA Health study)?
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause and can begin earlier than many realize, with signs like mood changes, fatigue, brain fog, and irregular periods.
Symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and sleep issues may not appear for several years after that.
No matter where you are in your journey, support and treatment options are available to help you feel your best.
Today, on World Menopause Day, let's raise awareness, break the stigma, and encourage open conversations about every stage of women's health. You don't have to navigate this alone.

Ever feel cramping or sharp pain mid-cycle? It could be ovulation pain.
Our latest HealthHub Blog explains what it is, why it happens, and when it might be time to reach out to your provider.
A monthly breast self-exam helps you understand what's normal for you, so you can catch any changes early on.
Check in once a month: in the shower, in front of a mirror, or lying down. If you notice a lump, swelling, or skin change, contact your healthcare provider.
Your annual well-woman exam is more than a routine appointment - it’s your opportunity to take charge of your health. From screenings to preventive care, this visit keeps you informed, proactive, and supported at every stage of life.
Watch as Dr. Aubrey Jaeger, one of our new providers from an Advantia sister practice, shares why staying consistent with your yearly exam makes all the difference.
Did you know that 5-10% of cancers are linked to inherited genetic changes?
Hereditary cancer screening can help uncover if you carry a gene mutation that raises your risk - so you and your care team can take proactive steps.
From understanding BRCA 1 & 2 and other genes to learning what your results mean, screening empowers you to make informed choices about your health and your family’s future.
Knowledge is power, and prevention starts with awareness.
This week, we're celebrating the incredible midwives who guide, support, and empower women every step of the way.
Their compassion, expertise, and advocacy make a lasting difference in the lives of countless families every day.
