Physicians and Midwives

Physicians and Midwives Physicians and Midwives is composed of a team of doctors, midwives, and nurse practitioners providing convenient, compassionate, care for women.
(274)

The Physician & Midwife Collaborative Practice was born out of the notion that as medicine and technology advances, “care” should still be the foundation of providing medical care to women. We focus on providing compassion, education and support in tandem with the best medical course of action for the individual. By bringing together board-certified OB/GYNs and midwives, we are able to provide our

patients with high-touch care in combination with the latest medical technology. This may translate to planning for a natural childbirth with a first-time mother or creating a comprehensive treatment plan, including exercise for a woman who is struggling with menopause. We also do our best to keep this level of care accessible, by offering multiple providers, four office locations, extensive office hours, and 24/7 on-site staff at Inova Alexandria Hospital. In order to respond efficiently and accurately to your needs, we also maintain electronic medical records and offer centralized support staff who can access your lab results and quickly set appointments. Joint pain isn’t always just “getting older.” It can be a symptom of menopause.

During this transition, some women experience aching joints, menopausal bursitis, frozen shoulder, or hip pain. These symptoms are often linked to hormonal changes, along with factors like bone health and weight changes.

And joint pain is just one piece of the picture. Other common menopause symptoms can include:
- Hot flashes & night sweats
- Sleep disturbances
- Mood changes, anxiety, or irritability
- Vaginal dryness or discomfort
- Changes in libido
- Brain fog or memory changes

If symptoms like these are affecting your daily life, our providers can help you understand what’s happening and talk through treatment options that fit your needs.
