We know that times of such uncertainty can trigger feelings of fear, sadness and anxiety. Alexandria Place Therapy has teletherapy appointments available for new clients who need help at this time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for support, and know that we are sending peace and health to all of you. At Alexandria Place Therapy, our goal is to create safe space for all of our clients and the community. Given the current concerns we are facing in the world, Alexandria Place Therapy has decided the safest option for our clients and staff is to continue offering teletherapy as an option for clients. We feel confident that we can continue to offer exceptional care to our clients throughout these uncertain times.

We, at Alexandria Place Therapy, value authentic and genuine connection with our clients and their families. We believe this connection is the groundwork for all work we do with clients. Alexandria Place Therapy offers therapeutic services in Old Town Alexandria. Our clinicians have spent their careers working with children, adolescents, young adults and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, trauma and loss. We bring expertise and experience to our work and aim to offer help in vulnerable times. Our experience and specialized training afford us the opportunity to tailor treatment to meet your or your child’s unique needs. Our Team has worked extensively with children, adolescents, college-aged, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, trauma and loss. We have had extensive training in play therapy, expressive therapies, and trauma treatment in addition to specialized training in EMDR, Theraplay ® techniques, and Parent-Child Relational Assessments.

We love Haley!!

My name is Haley Padgett. I currently work at Alexandria Place Therapy in Old Town, Alexandria, and SafeSpot Child Advocacy Center in Fairfax. Alexandria Place Therapy is a private practice where I work with kids, teens and adults with a wide range of presenting issues, and at SafeSpot we serve children and families who are victims of child abuse. In both locations, I am always exploring ways to integrate play therapy and other creative modalities into evidence-based practices.

How did you get involved in play therapy?
I first learned about play therapy as an elementary school teacher when I wanted to learn how to better support my students’ mental health. The modality deeply resonated with me and motivated my eventual transition away from education and into the mental health field.
