March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about one of the most preventable cancers when detected early.

Colon cancer often develops without noticeable symptoms in its early stages, which is why regular screenings are so important. Screening can detect precancerous polyps before they turn into cancer, and early detection greatly increases the chances of successful treatment.

At Freedman Clinic Internal Medicine, we encourage everyone to talk with their healthcare provider about when to begin screening, especially if you are over 45 or have a family history of colorectal cancer.

Meet Morgan Brame, FNP-C!

Morgan was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, and graduated from Bolton High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University before completing her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of South Alabama. Her clinical background includes experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where she cared for critically ill newborns and children. Her passion for healthcare is rooted in her desire to help others and make a meaningful difference in the lives of her patients and their families. These experiences strengthened her compassion, attention to detail, and commitment to providing high-quality care. She is especially passionate about serving her community and building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and families. Morgan is excited to expand her horizons by working with patients across the entire lifespan while continuing to grow both personally and professionally. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her fiance and looks forward to getting married in June as she begins this exciting new chapter.
