Please join us in congratulating Dr. Timmothy Randell on earning his MBA in Healthcare Administration from the B. I. Moody III College of Business Administration at University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

After years of medical training preparing him for the operating room, Dr. Randell recognized that leadership in healthcare also requires strong business and management skills. Through the MBA program, he gained tools to better navigate real-world challenges—supporting colleagues, managing teams, and helping healthcare systems run more effectively.

As Dr. Randell shared in his recent interview with the university:
“My time in the MBA program was better than I ever thought it could be. Dealing with employees who might be having conflict or supporting a physician who needs guidance — the MBA really helped me navigate a lot of those situations.”

We’re proud to have physicians who continue to grow, lead, and invest in improving healthcare for our community.

Years of medical training prepared Dr. Timmothy Randell to be a talented orthopedic surgeon. But after taking on administrative and leadership roles in his hospital, Dr. Randell found himself in need of some business training, as well.

Through the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration's MBA in Health Care Administration program online, Dr. Randell gained the practical knowledge he needed to supplement his clinical expertise.

We were excited to welcome the Central Region 4-H Beyond Ready Career Exploration Camp to Mid State Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center.

4-H is known for preparing students to be “Beyond Ready” for the workforce, and we were proud to give these future professionals a behind-the-scenes look at careers in orthopaedics and sports medicine.

Students had the opportunity to learn about:
• Clinical roles like Medical Assistants, Radiology Techs, NPs, and PAs
• Imaging services including X-ray and MRI
• Surgery coordination and joint replacement education
• Business careers in marketing, human resources, billing, coding, and administration

Healthcare takes an entire team — not just physicians — and we loved showing them how every department plays a vital role in patient care.

Thank you to Central Region 4-H for spending the day with us. The future of healthcare looks bright.

Mid State Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center is now accepting TRICARE West through TriWest Healthcare Alliance, credentialed with both CHRISTUS Health Plan and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

After months of negotiations and patience through the credentialing process, it’s official — and it’s a big one. By partnering with both underwriters, we’ve eliminated the confusion about which plan we can accept. If you have TRICARE West, we’re ready for you.

Central Louisiana has a strong military presence, and we’re proud to care for those who serve our country and their families.

Yesterday, our Annual Manager Meeting was held at the Courtyard by Marriott, where our Mid State Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center leaders came together for a day focused on growth, alignment, and sharpening our skills.

Thank you to Dara, Avery, Sarah, Lakin, and Scott for leading impactful sessions, and a special thank you to Pastor James Greer for reminding us that leadership is both influence and responsibility.
