Yesterday, our United Ecumenical Health Ministry directors and local community came together for a beautiful afternoon of learning, laughter, and life‑saving skills at the Alexis United Presbyterian Church.

With gratitude overflowing, we want to thank Emily Brooks, Community Health Program Manager with OSF HealthCare, for leading the CPR/AED training with such heart. Emily brought not only her expertise, but her hometown pride returning to Alexis to equip our community with the tools that truly make a difference.

There was something special in the room: neighbors gathered around tables, mannequins lined up like quiet reminders of why this matters, and a shared sense of purpose weaving us together. These are the moments that strengthen a community from the inside out.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, leaned in, and committed to being ready when it counts.
Thank you to OSF HealthCare for partnering with us. And always a huge thank you to Alexis United Presbyterian Church for opening its doors and its heart to our mission.

Here’s to a safer, stronger, more connected community ~> one breath, one beat, one act of care at a time. 🙏🏻

🙏 A Heartfelt Thank You & A Call to Care 🙌
To our beloved community, we are overflowing with gratitude for your incredible support during our October Emergency Care Kit initiative. Thanks to your generosity and the collaboration of five local churches, we successfully assembled vital care kits—and raised a total of $825 for supplies! Your compassion and commitment to preparedness truly made this event a blessing.

As we enter the season of Thanksgiving and celebration, we’re turning our hearts toward the next step in community care: CPR training. Emergencies don’t wait, and knowing how to respond can save a life—especially during the holidays when rich meals, busy schedules, and colder weather can put extra strain on our hearts and lungs.

We’re hoping to offer CPR classes for anyone interested, and we’d love to see volunteers from each of the five churches participate. Whether you’re a seasoned caregiver or just curious to learn, this is a powerful way to care for one another and build a safer, stronger community.

Message Lindsey Kirsten Anderson at 309-337-9288 💬 if you’re interested in joining a CPR class or helping us organize one, please let us know! We’re gathering names to determine whether we’ll host individual classes at each church or one large regional training session.

Let’s continue to be a community that not only gives thanks—but gives life. May this season be filled with warmth, wisdom, and wellness.

With gratitude and hope,
