Lately I have been struggling with social media. Struggling between my desire to be accessible and the importance of protecting my own mental health…. I have been conflicted.

In the spirit of transparency I have decided to explore a deeper break. In my experience I have found it best to be as clear and honest as I can be. With that, you are welcome to find me through my website. www.rootsttraumasensitiveyoga.com You can find my contact info there, and I am able to be available through that platform in a more meaningful way. I am still offering group and individual sessions, informational sessions and workshops. I am here, so to speak, however I am working on finding the best way to show up in my life authentically.

Book recommendation by a colleague .reiner

Do you work with children? This book is a thoughtful and accessible way to introduce how trauma may have affected the kids you are working with and introducing how noticing and choice might be a useful tool for embodiment. It’s beautifully written and the illustrations are so sweet and welcoming. Most importantly it’s full of hope….

I’m old school in this way… I’ve tried other planning options… I can’t seem to retain the information… this is part what I have learned during my pause… I’ve learned to use what’s working for me in this moment… I am opening to exploring something different, investigating something new… and I like to leave room for the possibility that it may or may not work… I’ll try it all again I am sure… for now I am writing down appointments in my book…. Retaining the info for now……

My name is Kelcy. I own and run ROOTS and I have been off line... well I mean for my business. Feels like I am telling on myself, it started as a pause, for my mental health... then as a longer pause once I felt more breath...then a bit more of a practice.

ROOTS has been well and staying busy however I took much of my "marketing", and "connecting through/with social media '' time and applied that to my own regulation. It's been useful and ultimately helped with keeping connections with the people in my world that I have the privilege of interacting with. It's helped me gather some balance and helped navigate this ever changing world we ALL seem to be trying to navigate together.

In that pause I had the opportunity to create some space. To notice that space in my life....then make choices based on that noticing.. Much like TCTSY, creating space to notice and then make choices based on that information.
I am back on line with ROOTS and I will continue to practice noticing.

Right now I am noticing that I want to explore with social media and the community of folx who are here supporting each, teaching each other, learning from each other and looking to access care in this way. I am looking forward to learning from you and sharing in this practice.
