🌞🎉As September begins, we take a moment to reflect on the final week of August. Our clients had an absolute blast at the annual summer picnic, filled with fun and games that brought smiles all around. Meanwhile, the MyCommunity groups enjoyed a visit to Idlewild Farms, where they spent time with the beautiful horses, and enjoyed a visit to The Aquarian Acres where they did some disc golf. Here's to more adventures this fall!

Thank you to the ESI Board of Directors for dedicating time yesterday during the Annual Meeting to engage with clients and listen to their insights about their experiences at ESI.

Each year, this “mission moment” creates a valuable opportunity for clients to express what matters most to them and to propose suggestions for improvement. The feedback gathered offers board members essential perspectives on the work being accomplished, enhances their understanding of the organization’s impact, and guides them in making informed strategic decisions for the future. Together, we are making a difference!

Meet Greg! He became a part of ESI in January 1991, and shortly thereafter, he worked with our Community Employment Program Coordinator, who helped him secure a position at Stodola's IGA. Greg has been a valued employee there since 1996! Recently, he had the opportunity to give his MyCommunity group a tour of his workplace, showcasing some of his responsibilities, such as stocking shelves in the frozen food section and demonstrating how to read SKU numbers, expiration dates, and labels to ensure that quality products are well-placed and fresh. Thank you, Greg, for your outstanding work, and a big thank you to Stodola's IGA for supporting and empowering ESI’s mission!

đź’ś Update on Our ESI Fundraiser đź’ś

We’re so sorry to share that we’re unable to host the fundraising yoga event for ESI as planned. We know many of you were looking forward to it, and we truly appreciate your understanding.

While the yoga can’t happen this time, our hearts are still fully in this cause. We’ll still be donating 15% of all sales on August 19th to ESI — so please stop by the farm store, enjoy the day, and help us support their important work.

Thank you for being part of our community and for helping us make a difference. đź’ś

As we wrap up the Explore Summer day camp program, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the program staff (Mallory and Ethan) and participants for making this year another fantastic experience! The primary goal of the Explore Summer program is to provide activities that foster personal growth and empowerment for all participants. Each activity is designed to allow participants to:
~ Create new friendships
~ Build self-confidence
~ Develop valuable skills
~ Explore their community

Some of the standout moments from this year included:
~ Day camping and hiking adventures
~ Visits to state and county parks
~ Excursions to the Wildlife Sanctuary, the zoo, Wilson’s Wish, and a tour of a semi-truck and Pagel Ponderosa
~ Opportunities to see animals and exhibits at the Kewaunee County and Door County Fairs
~ An exploration of maritime history with a visit to the Tall Ships in Sturgeon Bay..and so much more! We eagerly look forward to 2026 when we can do it all over again! ✨

Just over a week away from Lavender & Light: A yoga benefit for ESI at Glen Innish Farm. We hope to see you there! 🪻

Join us in the lavender field for an evening of movement, stillness, and community.

On Tuesday, August 19 from 6:30–7:30 pm, we’re hosting Lavender & Light: A Yoga Benefit for ESI in Algoma—a donation-based, slow vinyasa flow led by Ginny Lee, whose personal journey into yoga is as inspiring as her teaching.

This all-levels practice will take place surrounded by blooming lavender under the open sky. Stay after to walk the fields, sip lavender lemonade, and connect with the land and one another.

All proceeds support ESI’s mission to empower individuals with disabilities and autism—an organization close to our hearts here at Glen Innish Farm.

Suggested donation: $20
15% of Farm Store sales from 4:00 pm through class will also benefit ESI
Reserve your spot here – or just come the evening of
