Based on the Live Algoma model, Algoma Venture Academy was co-founded and created in 2021 to invite students to lead their own learning and become Youth Change Agents of their community.

Lettuce will be available to the public on Tuesday, April 19th. We have 2 new varieties that we are trying out this week. If you are interested in having a bag of lettuce, please look for the blue coolers which can be found near the entrance of the Algoma Community Wellness Center at the High School.

If you would like to leave a donation for the lettuce, it would be greatly appreciated. Funds raised will cover seed and gardening expenses for our summer gardening program.

This week we had an amazing harvest with extra lettuce available for community members who frequent the Algoma Community Wellness Center at the High School. If you would like a free bag of lettuce, simply look for the cooler and sign at check-in after 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29th.

If you would like to leave a donation for the lettuce, it would be greatly appreciated. Funds raised will help cover seed cost for our summer gardening program.

Last week, we had visitors from 5 Healthy Towns Foundation. Our visitors have been following our work and may just be our #1 FANS! They applaud 👏 us for our ability to:

➡️ make CONNECTIONS across ages & people
➡️ work together to address “vital conditions”
➡️ “think OUTSIDE the box” to solve problems
➡️ take action with a “fail FORWARD” attitude

What’s next❓An opportunity to stay connected and learn with and from one another. The work of building a THRIVING community does not have to stop 🛑 at our lakeshore! There is much that we can do TOGETHER across Lake Michigan 🌊
