Meet Mackenzie Leek, our Employee of Quarter 1 recipient. Mackenzie was born in Audubon, Iowa, and was raised in Guthrie Center until she moved to Algona in 2024. She has an 8-year-old daughter. Outside of work, Mackenzie enjoys going fishing and going on random adventures to different places.

In August, we will celebrate Mackenzie's second year anniversary with Homestead. Mackenzie says her favorite thing about working at Homestead is getting to know all the residents and being able to bond with them. Congratulations, Mackenzie, we are blessed to have you on our team and watching you grow! Thank you for all you do!

Some of the amazing ladies with TLC Quilters stopped by to share their time, talent, and hearts with your friends at Homestead of Algona. They gave a wonderful bed-turning presentation, sharing the stories behind these handmade quilts. This group does all of this through their own donations of time and money to bring comfort to others. ✨When asked what he likes best about living at Homestead of Algona, Teddy says he likes that he knows there is always someone here if he needs anything. He said he gets along with all of the staff and appreciates all that everyone here is willing to do for him and for everyone who lives here. Teddy says the long hallways are great because he likes to walk them to get his exercise. Teddy enjoys playing Bingo and really likes the Bingo store. Teddy was always excited when he got to babysit his grand pup, Harley. He loved how all the staff loved Harley too; we all miss that pup too!
