As a Chiropractic Neurologist, Dr. Becca takes a brain down approach.

She is led by your history to evaluate further the brain’s control.

History of symptoms:
-one sided
-over many months
-have seen others with minimal results

Points to, in part, cerebellum, which is in the back of the brain. Controls: balance, coordination and fine muscle control (e.g., walking). It also functions to maintain posture and equilibrium.

Upon evaluation a small shift in balance more left, right, front/back or a change in position of your arm as it hangs from your body (we call it joint angle) gives insight to how your cerebellum is firing in regards to maintaining posture.

The chiropractic adjustment is a HUGE input to the brain, a sensory input to assist in saying “hey this is where I’m at in space, start firing this muscle to keep me from swaying to the left!” Along with other exercises, many notice changes in posture control after the first adjustment.

Therapy Thursday! ⚾️ 🥎

Whole Body movement patterns are important for those youth baseball and softball players! The number one reason for shoulder or elbow pain is due to poor mid back and lower body flexibility. Here are Dr. Audrey Physical Therapist favorite mobility exercises for her baseball and softball players.
1. Cross body stretch: works out the muscles of the back side of the rotator cuff which are prone to shortening with throwing
2. Mid thoracic stretch which focuses on lengthening of the triceps and lats muscles that are prone to shortening with throwing
3. and 4. Hamstring and hip adductor dynamic stretch which focuses on proper step length to improve pitch velocity
5. Thoracic or mid back spinal twist with leg supported by foam roller to assist with increasing trunk rotation necessary for upper body deceleration after pitch release.

Don’t damage your shoulder or elbow. Pain, loss of accuracy and fatigue mean your body is compensating!

In addition to her 110% work ethic in our office, she is a mom to Nova, has a huge heart and love for her two foster kids and runs her business Inward Beauty. Oh, and still has energy to giggle with her hubby Nick. The love for the Lord she has is invigorating and we are so lucky to call her ours!

✔️Frontal Lobe is huge for go no go and ability to focus, so in history and exam she is watching your eyes ability to stay on a target and ability to stay on task with questions.
✔️Parietal lobe helps keep us aware of our surroundings and your eyes ability to track/ scan the room. So, Dr. Becca watches eye movement, again as you talk and if you are scheduled for a neuro appointment will further evaluate eye movement.
✔️Cerebellum helps keep everything balanced between smooth movement, thought process, initiation of movement, and muscle tonicity to name a few.

Which means, Dr. Becca checks balance and muscle tone in addition to smooth movement of eyes pre and post adjustments to help integrate the brain and body which decreases your subjective symptoms such as headaches, concentration issues, running into things when you walk and so. Much. more 🤗

Hi Dr. Becca,
I was just so excited, I thought I should email you! I ran three miles last night... slowly, but I did it!! I had no dizziness and a very low level of pain in my head/ neck. I feel great today, no pain came later! Running was the last thing I haven’t been able to do since my surgery, and I really wasn’t sure if I’d ever be able to do it safely and pain- free. Thank you for never telling me that my body can’t do something, and instead helping me find a way to do it. To think you’ve helped me go from not being able to lift my arms above my head or carry my own backpack to this amazes me. I can’t thank you enough for sticking with me and helping me to achieve this!! I’m so blessed to have had you these past few years to help my body heal and to maintain the progress that has been made.

✔️Broccoli is a great source of vitamins K and C, a good source of folate (folic acid) and also provides potassium, fiber. Vitamin C – builds collagen, which forms body tissue and bone, and helps cuts and wounds heal.
