Without them, KRHC would not run smoothly! They support the team by keeping us organized and efficient, all while being flexible and handling whatever is thrown their way with a smile on their face. 💖👏

We are incredibly grateful for our amazing KRHC volunteers. We have many volunteers throughout or organization including Hospice, the front desk, Gift Shop, Auxiliary Board, SHIIP, Board of Trustees and more!

In 2025 alone, these dedicated individuals donated over 3,600 hours of their time to support our patients, visitors, and staff. 👏Your generosity, kindness, and commitment make a lasting impact on our hospital and our community. We truly couldn’t do it without you—thank you for all that you do to support us!

At Hospice of the Heartland, we truly appreciate all of the physicians we have the privilege of working with. Today, on Doctor’s Day, we would especially like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank our Medical Director, Dr. Michael Lampe, and our Assistant Medical Director, Dr. Rachel Venteicher.

We are sincerely grateful for everything they do for our patients, their families, and our team. Their dedication, compassion, and leadership make a meaningful difference every day, and we are honored to work alongside them.

Today, we want to highlight and celebrate someone who embodies the heart of this work every single day — Kathy Dearchs, LISW our Community Health and Hospice Social Worker.

Kathy brings compassion, clarity, and calm to some of the most meaningful and challenging moments our patients and their loved ones face. Whether she is guiding families through difficult decisions, coordinating resources, or providing a steady, reassuring presence, Kathy approaches every interaction with empathy and professionalism that truly reflect the mission of KRHC.

Her dedication ensures that those we serve feel supported, understood, and never alone. Kathy’s work often happens quietly and behind the scenes, but its impact is profound and deeply felt across our organization and throughout Kossuth County.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Annette. Her compassion and dedication as a hospice volunteer touched countless lives and her kindness and selflessness will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
