Serena Reemtsma, RN, and Kathy Dearchs, LISW, had the pleasure of visiting with a wonderful group of ladies at the Whittemore Public Library to share how Hospice of the Heartland supports patients and their families during end-of-life care.

If your church, club, or community group would like to learn more about the services and support we provide, we would be honored to come speak with you as well. Please reach out — we love connecting with our communities.

Hospice of the Heartland

When a patient’s care transitions from curing to caring, Hospice of the Heartland is there. Services are provided to clients diagnosed with a terminal illness who can no longer benefit from curative treatment. The typical Hospice patient has a life expectancy of 6 months or less. Services are provided by a team of trained, local professionals—physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists, dietitians, home health aides, and volunteers—who provide medical, care and support services not only to the patients but also to the entire family.
