HORMONES - hypothalamus:
The hypothalamus oversees the production and release of many hormones in the neuroendocrine system. It releases corticotrophin-releasing hormone (CRH) which travels to the pituitary gland and stimulates the release of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). ACTH travels in the bloodstream to the adrenal glands stimulating cortisol.
